One of the most infuriating things for me in previous Battlefield games (Bad Company 2 and BF3) was that as a Medic or Engineer I had to unlock basic functionality for my class. This applied for all classes in that game mind you, however as a medic having to wait to unlock the basic ability to heal your teammates defeats the purpose of being a medic. You have to unlock the health kit, the ammo kit, the repair tool and the defib unit.
So the question is will Medics and Engineers in PS2 be able to do their jobs from the get go or will you need to spend Cert points to unlock that ability first? Building from that, what do you think each class should start with to be viable? For the player who just downloaded Planetside 2 and is playing for the very first time, what tools and abilities should they have from the start?
Planetside 2 is going to have lots of customization options, but what should we expect to start with? Will we have the basics so we can fill any role we want from the very start or will we have to work for all the necessary tools for our chosen classes?
