Haven't seen this interview posted. Feel free to delete if I've missed it.

There's a lot of interviews out there post E3, but this one is great. Matt gives us some insight to his background, for those who may not have heard before. Plus, he confirms plans to allow the UI to be modded. Apparently it uses Flash and they plan to open it up so you can create your own custom UI. Wow!

The dev team are doing a great job of embracing the latest technologies - and opening access up to the players. This and exposing game data as XML and JSON... great stuff. It can do nothing but make the game more popular.

Yep noticed that right after I posted... didn't realize OP posted at 4 AM, not PM.

Had to make a hasty edit! :p

"A lot of times, you’re working on games, and you’re at work at ten o’clock at night, and you’re just miserable about it, but knowing I can send out a tweet of an image, and people will be like, “Wow, that looks really cool!”…it feels really good. [It feels] like we’re building something for a purpose." - Matt Higby

Matt, just know you have my dream job! You are also tremendous at yours considering the approach you have taken to making this game - listening to the community then weighing those concerns with common sense and your own design knowledge.

I just hope this approach continues through beta and beyond and that people allow others to voice their opinions without continually saying "its in alpha/beta/development." We still don't know what in the game is WIP and what is viewed as finished so its good to keep giving feedback.

Also the way the developers get in on the discussion on these forums is something i have never seen and is very positive. :D

What a great read. I love the passion that Higby has for the game. I am stoked that we have him the rest of the team making such a great game. :D

Arghh!

Cannot contain appreciation of developer's integrity and commitment to user satisfaction!

Might spontaneously combust.
