Hey folks,
I was just watching a hover tank running down a couple of Max's and realised they didn't take any damage from it.
It hovers I can hear you yelling. Well the tank is ramming them, shouldn't they be killed? Even though it floats it still weighs a bucket load right? Inertia anyone?
Thoughts?

I'm almost certain I saw a magrider run over a MAX in the TB videos...

Uhh Brusi, that's a bit harsh mate. I'm not calling nerf. I'm at work with limited time for typing out a more elquent message.
So put the attitude away mate. I had an observation and was making an enquiry. End of story. Don't be an ass.

I think they should take *some* damage when going over MAX's, but there's a reason they called the technique "Mag Mowing" back in Planetside 1. Mags run people over. Don't take that away from us!

Magmowing is a big reason why the Vanu are so detested, and I wouldn't want that taken away from them
If the tanks had more health like in PS1, I'd agree with MAX's causing a bit of damage, but with ttk's so low, it wouldn't be appropriate unless it was a negligible amount anyway.
One thing the devs must do though: Dedicated roadkill sound effects! :D

Simply asking that if the mag can't damage players by mowing and beta hasn't started yet, then has it already been nerfed before beta?
I don't have an attitude, i just typed IN ALL CAPS! WHATA FULL DICKHEAD, BRO ;p
amazing the difference it makes, isn't it?

He was saying/asking if it was nerfed, not that you are calling for one.
And yea, I saw a MAX get killed, apparently, by the impact of a Magrider during the E3 stream.
Now vehicular collisions may not damage them. I did see a tank go under a Magrider as well, and I don't think either of them took damage. Not sure if land vehicles are going to be able to inflict ramming damage on each other anyhow, though I think you can kill yourself if you crash your quad into a wall fast enough... so I really think you aught to be able to do that to someone else as well.

"amazing the difference it makes, isn't it?"
Not really Brusi, but I appreciate your clarification. It's all about intent mate.
As to the ramming factor, that's great to hear that I'm wrong, perhaps it was that the hovertank only damaged the max's I saw rather than killing them outright.
I guess if anyone is going to survive being roadkill it should be a Max.

I was thinking the same thing during TB's videos. A MAX is a big old lump of metal, hitting one should definitely slow you down somewhat. I'd like to see MAXs being given the ability to counter-charge oncoming vehicles, dealing moderate damage and avoiding the instantaneous death we've seen so far.

I'm pretty sure I saw someone die when they rammed a Vanguard in one of the E3 streams. I forget which one though.

Still Alpha. They may not have collision fully fleshed out, so ramming might be a little weird still.

How do you know that they took no damage?
Just because it didn't instagib them?
Trust me when I say this, the last thing you want is the magmower back.
