What is the number 1 thing people are looking forward to in the new Planetside game?
My number 1 thing is going to be laughing at all the "veteran" players die over and over while going ADADADADADADADADADA to try to trick the old hitscan system. To every one that does that I want you to know you ruined the first planetside for me and I hope you die in a car crash for being a cheating gamer.

It's hard to narrow down all the things I'm looking forward to but I think night fighting is my number 1 followed closely by being one of many tanks or scythes in the air in a convoy.
Edit: also looking forward to floating like a butterfly, and stinging like a bee with my la class against a max.

Idk if you thought about it but imagine a fight with 20 ppl in a pitch black countryside and in a certain moment you see a strong light going up 5-8 meters, to be honest the result is that you will get all the players both side targheting you instantly with a rain of fire, and the worst part is that it will be most of all a unconscius(or it is inconsciu reflex.
But now i got curius does LA Vanu get some light effect? i mean since they are not using rocket but a strange technology do they have like a special effect that makes them to stand out like NC/TR ones?

I was expecting a lot the turrets too but from the E3 you clearly see a engie putting a turrent in a 3v1 (a TR max/HA/engie vs a NC Max) and the NC max totaly obliterated the defenses of the turret! :( killin instantly the engie, the HA had to take the turret to take the max down.
I was expecting a bit more defense from the shield :(

Respawning.
Good thing we'll be doing that alot, eh?
My dream activity would be to lead a small squad of infiltrators in ambushes on infantry/vehicle columns and providing sniper/backdoor tactics to base assaults.
We'll see how that goes. If that strategy isn't initially viable in beta, I hope it can be made that way.

Those long, awful, drawn-out base defenses that last for four hours, culminating in a desperate stand in the last room in the base your side still holds, and still pulling it out in the end. The feeling of finally getting some room to breathe, running out onto the walls and watching the enemy fleeing the field is tremendous. Usually, that sort of thing happens when your army is busy fighting at multiple bases, wins one, and comes in like the cavalry to bail out another.
I'm a vet and I'm not going to try to ADADADAD spam.:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Failing that, being a sneaky bastard. Sort of like the spy in TF2 :)

Good netcode.
Having played mostly as a sniper in PS1, I'm looking forward to being a true scout in the game.
One thing I liked in America's Army when it first came out was how close the M-16 rifle range is to the real thing in the Army. You are taught proper marksmanship, including how to properly breathe when you shoot. Same goes in the sniper school. When you put up your iron sights or the sniper scope, you have to fire when you exhale. Just like you would in real life.
In Day 3 of TotalBiscuit's stream, they showed a sniper and Clegg saying you can use the shift key to control your breathing, just like any marksman would do. I can't wait for that.
I'm looking forward to SMGs, which are really fun in close quarters combat.

When you put up your iron sights or the sniper scope, you have to fire when you exhale. Just like you would in real life.
Actually at the range they tell people not to focus so much on shooting on exhale anymore because they found people were focused so much on breathing that they were missing shots. Now they pretty much tell you to find a rythm that works for you. (*Points at shiny greygreenyellow ribbon thingy with a decoration*)

My coffee is now soaking into my jeans. Great opening post!
Now to read the thread......
OK, rolling in a fully-crewed magrider column that has a mix of AV, AA and AI secondaries. Strafing Vannies and Prowlers with my gunner shouting instructions in my ear. Watching our air cover hold off the AV attacks of the enemy's air vehicles. Drool!

But... comrade...
I'm mostly looking forward to fighting in a sunsetty or dawny time since the screenshots looked amazing so far.
I'm also hoping for many interesting landscapes to fight on.
And of course I would like to feel real squad-based teamwork again, not this fast paced pseudo teamwork BF3 is trying to give me.
