reading about the emp grenade specifically, it says it depletes shields and decloaks infiltrators.
I assume that the HA's shield is included in "shields", but I cannot think of anything else they have mentioned as using shields.
if so, that means in the current state the emp grenade is extremely situational in its use and also means it is more useful in a defensive sense than an offensive sense (defend against shielded HA crashes and inf captures) which kind of goes against the infiltrator's mantra.
It also (in the current e3 state only of course) leaves the infiltrator very limited explosive-wise, as It only has one explosive weapon that can actually do damage to anything, the claymore.
so, is there anything else the emp does, and are there plans to increase the infiltrator's explosive armory?

Everyone has a shield health bar along with their real health bar, from the looks of the E3 footage. That's probably the shield they're talking about. Whether a HA's shield is ALSO dropped by EMP, who knows?

Would be cool if it killed powered sights and disabled MAX's and vehicles too.

It shuts down electronic in PS1 turrets tank turrets spitfire turrest and inplants wouldnt work for a short time,and mines would be destroyed

ahh I totally didn't notice that, but you are right, that is a lot more awesome than I assumed.
It would be interesting to see a standard infantry squad incorporate infiltrators just to lob emp grenades to squishify :D the enemy.

I thought it would also work along the same lines of the EMP in 2142 where it acts as a pseudo flashbang by scrambling your visor, since it is a digital display. Though i do remember the devs talking way way back about flashbangs but i havent seen or heard of one since. So correct me if im wrong.

It was a viable balancing mechanic... infantry were rightly afraid of vehicles back then, but packing the right equipment allowed them to run away if they needed to. It also allowed good grunts to solo BFRs...

Can you imagine if they had full fledged EMP that disabled all electronics? The Vanu would be so screwed.

Pffft we quit using electrical circuitry a decade ago. Our cheap stuff is using optical, and I'd have to kill you to explain how the rest of it works.

anyway, i really hope the infiltrator has something along the lines of boomers from ps1 (probably c4), because gen dropping and base trapping sounds like the most hilarious thing in the world.
