With few games comparing to the length of time planetside as stayed alive I thought it would be fun to have a thread where people discuss how different or similar their life is from when you first started playing until now.

2002: I was accepted into closed beta. I was a 14 year old high school freshman with plenty of time to play but barely enough money to have a pc that met minimum specs.

2012: Now a 24 year old with much more responsibility and a job working for the government. Have little to no time for playing but plenty of money to buy a sweet gaming rig to sit in my room haha.

Things that have stayed the same: Still play Planetside to this day and still live with my parents hahaha (although my apt lease starts in Aug, but you can still make fun).

So how have you alls lives changed since "the beginning" ?

My story is basically the same as yours. Though I am still in school. Not sure if that means more game time for me or not at release. My last year to going to be a total bitch.

Somewhat similar to the first post there :)

2003 (Aged 14 or so) started playing on Werner, making the outfit by dragging Stellerence along. On the cusp of my secondary school exams and fully engrossed in what I maintain was the best game I ever played.

2006/2007 started to drop out of game for a while, still maintaining contact with folks from the outfit. We moved around a fair few games.

2012 Not playing PS1 but rallying the troops and preparing for Planetside 2 (http://www.ini-elite.co.uk/). 23 and working in the games industry. Can't afford my own place quite yet but working towards it with my girlfriend!

And when Planetside 2 comes out, my life will crumble and I shall disappear into Auraxis for a good few weeks :p

2003 - Started playing Planetside aged 20 whilst at University, house sharing with my friends. Built the best rig money could buy and had a couple of those beastly 21inch crt Sony trins

Played excessively through to 2006 where the likes of BFR's and hackers put paided to my all consuming love for planetside. Had the opportunity to meet many planetside players both in 2 outfit trips to Amsterdam and many Iseries/other lanparties

2007-Present My own apartment, other community games and career activities kept me very busy so i perhaps spent 1-2months a year heavily playing planetside.

Now running my own business and gearing up for planetside2 and the natural obsessive hours of game play i'm putting to one side for it.

Since 2005 i've been a member of the MercenaryS outfit and I don't ever see me leaving what is a great community.

I started playing Planetside back in 2005 when I was 15. I had a great time, as it was definitely (and still is) the best MMO I've ever played.

My friends dropped off the bandwagon and I stopped playing in 2007. I tried starting back up in 2010, but the pops were terrible and my outfit was basically non-existent.

Nowadays I'm 22, live on my own, and work a great job. I'm psyched for PS2 and considering re subbing to PS1 for the farewell day, and because I hear the pops are rising again. Thoughts?
