so....they need 5000 people in closed beta? Thats not really a closed beta, its more of open beta that people download....

Not really, it is a stability fix before they try to purposely kill the servers. 5000 people is how many people they plan to see in the upwards of playing simultaneously, 20,000 is just a meatgrinder.
