View Full Version : Invite Friends Into closed Beta?

Alright. Revamp.
What to consider:
1) Yes, I don't have a beta key and it's a reason to why I made this thread.
2) "Closed beta will be a few weeks. You can't wait for that?" Lies. Closed beta will be SOON.
3) I wanted to add "Yes. Reason: I want my new outfit members to play" but I forgot. Say option 5 or whatever if you agree on this.
4) If you are going to post a "This poll is fail" or whatever, save it.

IMPORTANT POLL!
proceeds to not add a poll..

("Important Poll", with no poll initially)
Not quite the worst topic ever. No, that goes to bug reports titled "IT DOESN'T WORK" or "IMPORTANT BUG FIX NOW." It's close, though. Congratulations.

Important Close!
Important Warning!
Dont create fail threads!
Important text: The title is fail, the poll that doesnt even exist is fail, there is no description of the poll (that still doesnt exist).
Make a proper one, so i dont have to be all important! :D

Are you people serious? I had a problem with option 1's char limit. You couldn't wait 10 seconds?

How about "No, all the people I want to play with got beta keys." and "No, my friends are perfectly content to wait til launch."

ive got nothing against having 3-4 keys to give friends who dont have another way.

I voted yes because my friends have had to put up with me talking about PS2 to the point that I can only do it as an obvious "lets change the topic of the conversation to Planetside 2" thing.
They have heard enough, now let them play! Once I get my invite first ofc.

Thanks for the actual replies. As for mardine, for your first option, the point of the thread is for people who don't have beta keys. As for the second, I'm adding that.
EDIT:...Can you edit polls?

How about "No, all the people I want to play with got beta keys." and "No, my friends are perfectly content to wait til launch."
Those 4 options we got are good. Let me translate them to their actual meaning:
No. Reason: I payed the subscribition costs for PS1 and PC gamer magazine, I deserve to be in beta
Means: Im a prick that only cares about himself and want to feel awesome because im in beta and those other dudes arent.
No. Reason: Too many people would invite and most of them won't submit feedback.
Means: I want a actual beta with bug and feature testing, not just a demo of the game and rage.
Yes. Reason: Having friends to play with you is awesome.
Means: Im a social guy, and playing with my mates is just more fun.
Yes: Condition: Getting rewards. I got into the game, give me a reward slave!
Means: Im a prick and only care about myself. Give me the invite option so i can invite all my 5000 Facebook friends of who i only really know 3 (mom, dad, sis), so i can get loads of rewards and feel awesome.
As for myself, im undecided. Yes, i want my Outfit mates to be in asap with me, but i dont want the whole place to be crowed instantly.
I think during closed beta, there should be a list of people on the beta forums that want to invite their mates. Then, once the PC Gamer guys and us Vets are in Closed beta, SOE just takes a look at the list and figures out who should get some keys to invite some buddys. Vet Outfits go first (should only be a few guys anyway), then directly the Clans from PC gamer folks.

I'd re-edit the poll to this if I could. I agree with your suggestion though.

Beta is for testing not for fun

I'd prefer to see the PS 1 outfits given keys or an outfit beta invite.

Yea this poll is a fail. I chose number one even though I don't agree with the PC gamer mag beta keys. I'm not a prick as basti would say, I simply believe the PS1 vets will be the best for testing the game. As I said above, beta is not for fun it is for testing. I would love to invite all my friends but they can wait till release when the real fun begins.
In the future let's think about these polls a little more before posting.

Kush, I honestly can't see how I should know how people would react to this poll by their posts. I wanted opinions on this matter, and I got them. As for beta being not for fun, isn't the entire point of a game to have fun? :p I got invited into the smite beta and while people are having fun, they still have feedback and crictisms.(Failed spelling)
Besides, no one had brought it up. I actually came up with this when I was chatting with someone in my outfit and he asked me if I had a key or not, I felt it was very gut wrenching(Not literally of course) that all that chat about planetside 2 and how great it would be to be able to play with each other and then responding:"No, I can't."
Also, I bet part of you couldn't give a single thought about testing, you just want to play the game. I could be wrong in this so feel free to say I'm wrong. :)
Edit: Also, before saying that because I don't have a beta key I made this poll, I'll admit, part of the reason was me not owning a beta key.
Im Also beta Tester in Firefall Support is important,in Big games Like This one, Yeah everyone wants to Play Planetside , we all understand this.
Dont forget the Feedback ! ;)
The Problem today is -> PPL thing BETA ACESS is the same as being a "Beta Tester".
There will be many People in the Game !!! So ist a Good Reminder.

I wouldn't say PS1 vets would make for the best testers... I can see the "feedback" from some of them will be along the lines of how PS2 is ruined already because it doesn't play like PS1 either in some minute way to not at all.
Though as long as the closed beta is under NDA, the less "randoms" there are invited, the better. Us PS1 vets will have something of a gun held to our head once we join the closed beta. At least, I don't think anyone faked their info when signing up for PS1...

They said that closed beta woudl last like 2 weeks, so I dont see the need for this..
Paraphrased "Closed beta starts in a few weeks, then open beta a few weeks from that. The game is released later this year"

I wonder who bumped this.
It's clear most people want option 2, but let's see more opinions.

Honestly if you don't have a Beta key you've chosen not to go out and get one. They've been practically handing them out to anyone that asks on Twitter since E3. I got THREE keys from twitter within two days of trying.
Lazy people wanting hand-outs. Go figure.

I've spent 2 midnights trying to snag a beta key at most times, and I've tried asking nicely and adding a "creative" picture. I've chosen not to waste my eyeballs mauling F5 on the two websites I hate the most.

You don't need to spam their twitter. Simply make a tweet every 10 minutes and hope for the best. Keep an eye out for when they ask for a dog picture of PS2 or some shit you don't need to be a great artist they do that just to see who is watching the twitter regularly.
Patience is a virtue.

I'm normally patient but that gets thrown out of the window with facebook and twitter. I just naturally hate those two.

I completely understand because I hate them myself... however for a key I was willing to do anything. I was even going to buy a UK copy of the PC Gamer Magazine for here in Canada just to get a key if I had to.
