Oh, Warforge running their hacked version? Cool. I took part of it during the Reign of Chaos Beta.

Anyway, I have a legitimate Beta account. I go by the name Thelvadyen on it.

DAMNIT:mad: I wish they had ships like in War craft 2 THAT WAS COOL.

What new units are there? is there a new team?

1 new hero, 2 new units per race
virous upgrades
new items/creeps/maps
player-built shops
There 'might be' up to 5 neutral heros, but only 2 are conformed and only ones in the game,
if you have classic I could help you get my 'version' of the beta

God, people complain about this so much. Look man, the focus is on ground combat. You want boats? Sure, but that means that instead of adding more land units, they'd have added water units. Can't have it all. And I don't know about you, but I definitely prefer more land units to enhance the existing facets of the game, rather than branching out into something they obviously never intended.

But, rest assured that you'll get all the boat action you want with the various custom games. Now that boat movement is in, it'll be easy for people to make combat boats etc with their own custom maps. So give Blizzard credit for that.

No, there isn't a new "team". The new units are:

Alliance
Blood Mage (Hero)
Dragon Hawk
Spell Breaker

Scourge
Crypt Lord (Hero)
Obsidian Statue
Black Sphinx

Horde
Shadow Hunter (Hero)
Spirit Walker
Batrider

Sentinels
Warden (Hero)
Mountain Giant
Faerie Dragon

espically as one of the developers for blizzard u would know that right? maybe people "complain" about it because they enjoyed that aspect in Warcraft 2.

Thanks for the info though sounds cool I WANT IT:D

Troll Batrider: A troll mounted on a giant bat, throws a flaming concoction on ground units. When this "bomb" is upgraded, it sets buildings on fire. When a building is on fire, it can't be repaired.

Troll Berserker: This upgrade turns all Head Hunters into Berserkers. Berserkers are just better overall, and they can go into Berserk mode, doing 50% more damage, taking 150% more too.

Tauren Spirit Walker: This is a spellcaster Tauren, with 3 spells.

Ethereal Mode: The Spirit Walker cannot attack, or cast spells, but he can be hurt by magic attacks and spells

Spirit Link: A friendly Area of Effect spell cast on several of your troops. Makes their HP one big pot, any damage done to one is spread out among them. (Ex: 2 tauren get linked, 1 takes 20 damage, they both only take 10)

Raise Tauren: Lets them reincarnate a dead Tauren (non-hero) for 250 mana.

Faerie Dragon: Not really a dragon, more like a demented butterfly. When attacked, it phases out of exisence, and then comes back in shortly. It also can send out anti-spell rays that hurt you for casting spells. (Ex: Priest casts heal for 5 mana, takes 10 damage)

I don't want to make two quoted pieces of text so I'll quote once and answer twice. Regarding your first sentence, I don't work for Blizzard, but Blizzard employees communicate with the Beta testers a lot via the publically-visible Beta forums. During the first Warcraft 3 Beta, they said what I repeated above, minus the bit about custom maps containing "real" naval combat. During this Beta, they repeated what I said above, again minus the custom map bit. So do I really need to work for Blizzard to know that? No. Paying attention and looking for the facts can get you a long way.

Regarding the second part about people enjoying it in Warcraft 2: That's wonderful, but this isn't Warcraft 2, and it was never meant to be. People loved the huge armies of Starcraft, but this isn't Starcraft either. Again, be happy that Blizzard put in the mechanism to allow people to make their own maps with naval combat. That in itself is more than most companies would do.
