Will the development team be playing the beta alongside the rest of us?

I'm positive we'll see them some, as most of them clearly have an interest in PS2 as a game and not just only as their daytime job. However, we have to consider that they are indeed working so I wouldn't expect them crunching the hours. We'll see them pop in from time to time to cheer on us and "mingle", but not much more than that. Sometimes some of them might pop in on their free time for some real action versus playing the in-house Alpha.

At least that's my experienced guess on it, this is how developers usually behave during CBT/OBTs.

I had a dev friend in the original PS. We used to play now and then on the live servers but he couldn't let on that he worked for SOE to anyone else. He'd told me because I used to help him out with some stuff out of PS. :)

Better was when we played on the test servers. That's where he got to use his dev powers. Result meant for some "omg ur a lamo hacker" hate tells. :D

He went to work for another MMO though and I haven't heard what happened to him. :(

I've got a 30-gig hard drive sitting around somewhere with a folder full of PS screenshots, including dev kills from events and the like... I'm suddenly tempted to go dig for it. :p

I would have thought that the entire team would be playing everyday, to continually assess the impact of specific mechanics, and to also test new features as they are implemented into new builds.
