I wonder if I didn't get any email because I already entered my specs today before the emails got sent out, or if I just haven't received my email yet.

no, i did the survey this morning & got the email, so i did it again.

Oh ok. Still, I wonder if some of us did it right before the emails were sent out and some did it right after the emails were sent out, so some of us were removed from the mailing.

Doesn't really matter. My info is entered, and I'll enter it again if I have to. Still, just a little curious. I'll be checking my email and spam folder for the next couple of days until I get it just to be sure, but if it still doesn't come I'll assume it just knew that I had already taken care of it.

Hmmm, very odd. I also didn't get the mail, and I also didn't receive the monthly PS2 newsletter of this and the previous month. (I don't know if there has been one) Could this mean I can't receive e-mails from SOE or something?

Because when I subscribed for a month of PS1 a few weeks ago, I did get an receipt e-mail from SOE. Ugh, now you will see I can't receive the beta e-mail when it comes out lol :P

Try changing your password or something that will give you an email confirmation.

Changed my password but I got nothing, but I could change my password directly in my account, so I suppose you don't get an e-mail verification.

However I did changed my e-mail address. And I did receive an verification link to confirm it. Then I changed it back to my old e-mail and I also received the link there. (my e-mail was already verified, so that can't be the problem). However the e-mail address of the verification link([email protected] )is different then the e-mail I received from some previous PS2 newsletters (with is [email protected]).

I don't want to get paranoid, but I am actually afraid I won't receive the PS2 beta e-mail when I get invited. Hmmm, maybe I need to contact support or something.

Actually, the people who did received the e-mail, are you PS1 vets? (and by that I mean the account you signed up for beta, does that one have a PS1 account to it? )

It may be possible that the people who played and signed up for the beta with the account that has a PS1 membership on it, don't receive the e-mail.

I do would really appreciate it if a dev can look into this. I am worried that I can't receive PS2 e-mails, and thus no beta invite e-mail.

Came home, had the e-mail, clicked, took me to front page...

"Hrm..." I said.

Thought for a minute...

Thought for another...

Clicked the orange "station account" text in the paragraph below the "redeem" button, put in a public handle ('cause I felt like it, sadly Littleman was taken,) saved, clicked the email link again, BAM, instant survey.

Now whenever I click "Sign up for Beta!" I get taken to the survey screen.

I'm feeling pretty confident though.

Used Google Chrome for this whole process. Hotmail e-mail account.

So, After my initial register for beta months back, i had since attempted to register my account again to be safe and it said i was registered already...what i expected. Clicked on "Sign Up For Beta"
Logged in.
Brought up the survey.
Filled it out honestly (even though my GPU is dated and I plan on upgrading it for PS2)

Still extremely anxious about wanting to get into beta, but trying to keep my expectations in check. I've been following the development of this game daily since Smed first posted that Vanguard pic about 1.5 years ago. Getting that beta invite, whenever it may be, will be the best email I'll get in years, if not ever. With my luck, I just believe I'll probably be in the last wave.

They will be interested in a wide variety of machines, especially those that are a bit unusual or old im sure.

The goal of this first stage is to test as many different machines as possible to ensure maximum stability for the main beta. So everyone should have an even chance of getting in really.

When I click to sign up for beta, it asks me to log in. I log in and it takes me to the screen that says

Then I click the CLICK HERE TO TAKE SURVEY button and it takes me to the survey. I fill it out and submit it and it takes me to a page that says:

If it's not doing this, something may not be working.

okay, i got that confirmation screen and if i try to do it again it just keeps saying update your specs, again, again again and again...this was in chrome.

No it does not. They want a rough estimate on what kind of hardware you have. :)

Yar in the Producer's Letter is said they were gonna do a specifications testing first that is only for confirming hardware and driver compatibility over as wide a range as they can before they open up for the real stuff.

Doesn't mean that you'll defo get in for doing the survey, but it does mean that you defo won't get in if you do not.

Also anyone else test it yet where you have to get the email first before you can go a head and log in to the forums and do the survey? I'm too lazy to read this whole thread for that.

So everyone needs to post the worst specs possible, so that everyone can play :D

Atleast i'm not the only one. RadarX said yesterday that the e-mails were still being processed. It does take long though... I'm from Holland btw. (Still don't have a mail)

No email here either. I'm curious if they send them out alphabetically. My email starts with T. Has anyone recieved an email that starts with letters after T?

In regards to the survey I was able to fill it out just fine. Though my CPU wasn't listed, I just picked the one I thought was closest. I wish they had an 'other: type here' option.

Still doesn't work for me but the survey sounds so poorly done, should be a dxdiag. People who know their specs will be able to upload that file, this system just means everyone has an I7 and a 600 series.

thats assuming people are stupid enough to think that they only want the best of the best PC's in the beta....

i would want as wide a range of PC's as possible, to ensure the software works for the mass market. Im sure they do aswell.

They are probably interested in mid-end hardware, like mine :D
High-end hardware is not so interesting for most developers i can imagine, as they dont need the same level of optimization.

They might start with a certain configuration though, or a certain subcategory (Say for example all intels or all AMDs). To gradually check compatability.
Basicly how you put on your electricty after it goes down.

They might also not and go with the broadrange spectrum from the start.

It's up to SOE how they perfom their tech testing.

It's just best to be honest, it helps them and you (given the uncertainty on selection procedure)

Given testing will be done on a time-slotted basis, I however worry for the EU crowd :D

this survey didnt have the fx bulldozer cpu listed so i just picked the highest phenom and 6000 series ati card...i figured that's all that mattered anyway. it ran ps1 np last night on win8. it was funny i was loading continents in like 1 second lmao i remember when i had to watch it actually load back in the day :) 16 gig of ram and 8 cores sure makes a big difference from 9 years ago hehehe.

Those who didn't get the mail, have you finally received it? I am still worried about that there might
be some broken accounts. I haven't received any mail regarding the survey nor have been automatically granted the 30
days of free game time.

At first i thought maybe they start with American gamers, which would be logical cause of timezone and cause they want to test
at specific time but it seems like European players were notified as well.
Then i thought they sent the survey only to specific vets that played for a long time thought apparently the mail was also
send to guys that only signed up for beta.

So i took a look into my account and after looking into the subscription tab I noticed that I paid only for 2004 while having bought the game in 2003. So I
dug deeper and noticed i used a game time card as first payment method. Perhaps this has anything to do with it and I am somehow not counted as a vet.

Also in January I signed up for beta with the same account. Maybe that messed something up.

So long story short, if you haven't received your mail:

Are you from Europe?
Were you granted the free game time?
Have you signed up for beta with your vet account?
Have you used a game time card?

I like how there are only like 3 options for AMD cpus. There is a HUGE range of cpus that lowest option covers because AMD hasn't been the best at making tiers of cpus with easy names like core 2 duos. There are some respectable AMD cpus that would have to pick the lowest option because technically they aren't phenoms.

Just pick the equivalent or closest to it. I have an 8 core amd cpu, and that isn't a choice, so I just picked the 6 core one.
