Not just that, but holy shit, how is this fun? It's not like this is all, heroic last stand and stuff. This is getting hit by about four or five gal drops at a time. Not to mention, amp stations are the worst place for a last stand. Tech plants aren't much better.

Only think I'm looking forward to is when (hopefully) we get to return the favor. They better not try to "balance" it, that would be utter bullshit then.

When we have the opportunity to properly defend against even odds with even pops, we are some of the nastiest defenders you can come up against.

But Brewko didn't even allow that. We were fighting with one hand behind our backs with forced 2:1 pops on all conts concerned. Its the abuse of power that leads to being on homeconts that pisses me off. We were also denied the tactical opportunity to hit elsewhere to draw VS or TR away from our conts as we usually can do. In other words, we're not fighting on even terms as is usually allowed.

When you have 65 percent pop versus 34 or so... it isn't a contest. It isn't even a fight. Its a slaughter.

And as Goku said, there was no other outcome to it possible. NC nor any other empire have outfits capable of fighting on terms like that anymore. Nobody hardly even remembers those outfits. Some might, but it isn't common. Those are all old names now.

SG was on the field at Amerish during the whole event, I'm only a new member there and talk on my behalf and opinion here.

We were pushing the TR off Amerish before the event got announced, and we already noticed the 2-3% VS pop that was capturing towers in the south and thought that this is the usual VS screwing around stuff they so love to do, we paid no attention to it.

As the event got announced and started we pretty much were holding the last two hacks to get the TR off cont, while a 20% and raising VS population was marauding in the south, setting themselves home in our bases and now we thought that they are up to something. We also thought in 4 mins the continent capture will flip all towers anyway but we should get ourselves mobile, so I got send to get ourselves a Gal.

We pulled out of the bases, as I was trying the get a Gal out of the term at Azeban all bases except the capital and two others went neutral. With alot of disorganization along pretty much all NC forces it was a wonder we even could hold on so long to begin with. Every were we tried to "defend" to keep the Capital dome up, the VS were already there, so we had to attack on 2 to 1 odds, this was setup to be impossible to win for the NC.

Also, what I found interesting, bases that were held by the NC during the event got showered non stop by meteorites. Higby joined the SG Platoon later and said he was not the one raining them down on us.

Other than the Genhold were we kept the VS outside of the gen for over 20 minutes, until we went out of ammo, this whole event was not really enjoyable and left me somewhat angry at SOE.

If they try to do that on 01.07. I will not join the battle that day, and I would recommend that neither one does, there is no fun on the defending side or attackers side, atleast I see none in outgunning someone 2 to 1. Play something else but not PS1 if they really will do those event's EVER again.

01.07. is a fanmade event, if SOE want's to support it they only need to keep the sever from crashing, alongside some Meteor showers.

Sometimes attacks fail. We always bring a large concentration of people to take a base. Attacking is always harder than defending, you need to do that.

What's really happening is that all of the NC and TR are trying to up their KDR, whereas AT and GoTr actually go for objectives. :groovy:

Hence, we die a lot but take the bases. Oh, and then everyone on here starts blaming Dev's for their losses.

The VS (50% GOTR) defended the Ceryshen in a 2 vs 1 fight, and NC got their ass handled in a doggy bag with 0 base captured at the end of the event...

I'm not even going to bother with reading the entire thread and just throw this out there.

The VS were the ones that were out popped the entire event from what I noticed.

You guys could of pushed out of those towers are any point if you would of just worked as a team. Couple of Oses, and if you would of brought that armor column in at the Nerrivik tower instead, you more than likely would have pushed out and really gave us a run for our money.

But you didn't. The VS worked as a team the entire event, whether we were supporting that bridge to getting to Nerrivik ASAP to defend it. Not to mention all those who spent the entire time fixing the bases that you all tried to drain.

So in case you missed it. Events like this generally require team work, empire wide. Yes we had the advantage at the bridge, but what was stopping you guys from forming up, and going around to hit us from behind?

Anyway I had a blast leading GOTR with my fellow officers during the event, and I'm saddened that you guys on NC didn't enjoy it, but like I said. Teamwork is everything in this game.

Ask anyone I've ever played with. Ask anyone in SAS, PG, SuperTroopers or Blue Lions, I am one of the single most constructive and helpful CR5s that currently exists. Additionally, I have the respect of a number of my enemies. WildVS for one, is someone I talk with often. Dart of DT is another. Just before brewko's event, I was helping Nobel with his event on the NC side of it despite the fact that I should have been running ops with my outfit.

I'm going to be completely honest, if thats the type of attitude you showed the night before and during the event its not really a mystery as to why you got silenced.

The VS had the great advantage of NC CR5's, the initial push was a pure failure, we had CR5's drawing guys away from it to do the AIR CAV event, our initial target was Pina, we didn't even made it close there.

Brewko hates every other empire than VS and let's us feel that every time he can and this is a fact. Just compare cery vs amerish in a defensive battle, it's way easier to hold if you keep air dominance, not to mention dropship center vs AMP station as capital ... not to mention what happened to the TR after they had to defend ...

Our CR5's had the zerg running with their heads against your brick wall bridge, anyone trying to bypass the bridge was "outnumbered" because 90% of the NC were at that damn bridge, I should have taken pics of my reveal friendly, it just looked sad.

SG pulled out after about 2 hours, blowing gen's was no option because there was no link to break, you had tech from two sides, so we tried to take all the towers in the south of the bridge, do an armorpush in a long drive around the bridge, we simply got outnumbered everywhere because of the main zerg being at the bridge.

We should have let the cont go full purple again and stopped halfway in the initial 5 minutes, and ditch the whole event, that were the most wasted 2 hours of planetside I ever had, defending on amerish was even more fun than that. If Brewko will make a comeback as admin in PS2 I will not join the server he manages for sure, even if that means that I have to play with a much higher ping because of that.

These events are pretty crappy for the following reasons:

1) There is no point to be doing this over and over again... except to irritate us. If you want us to have all vehicles, don't you have the power to just make it a vehicle holiday?
2) It's Planetside and we don't need events to have fun shooting each other in the face.
3) The lag in these bases is unholy. I don't remember it being this bad in 2003-2005 when there were comparable populations. If this is your way getting new people interested in PS2, bugs and old netcode isn't something you want to show them.
4) Meteors. Stop it.
5) Interrupting previously planned community-driven events that are even on the Planetside2.com page? That makes you look like an idiot or a jerk. Take your pick.

I've enjoyed my time back in Planetside, but it's not because of the events. It's because of all the old friends that have come back to send the game on its way.

I was pretty disappointed that they decided to do an event in the middle of the player events that were listed on PlanetSide2... that was pretty awful. They should have worked to assist the events like that dogfight (by shutting off the warp gate shield for ex.)... I felt like they were trying to 1up the player events because they had the extra pop, and that was crap.

As for the NC push on the bridge... You guys had a 2/1 pop advantage and didn't make effective use of it. I was in one of the GotR flails and I saw a lot of sloppy OSes (more trees were hit than players) and very little coordination at that bridge. Some lib runs, few good OSes, and a strong armor push would have changed the game there. I saw only one or two tanks pushing at a time, bad OSes, and barely any air (and I know AA wasn't an issue because there were NC reavers that were turreting on our side of the bridge and picking up kills along that cliff edge [I was one of those kills]).

Getting past my massive VS pride at winning the Cery defense event -

Cery is a really easy defensive continent. I mean, the place is a fortress. The DSC is the capitol (that means NO GALAXIES, LODESTARS, OR GGs) for the opposing team if you're poplocked. That's pretty rough.

Low flight ceiling - Good luck doing a bombing run when I can read the decal on the side of your plane when you're at "flight ceiling" on Ceryshen.

Nerrivik - the most massive chokepoint in the game. In fact, the ONLY base that is such a chokepoint. When you're on Ceryshen, you have to go through Nerrivik (unless you attack from the south, and even then, the defending team can make it so you attack Nerrivik).

Terrain - not very merciful. Bridges like the one south of Sedna make large armored advances a pain.

Did we win? Yeah, and it felt good. But I have no illusions. There's a reason nobody fights campaigns on Ceryshen anymore, they just prefer to farm Keelut.

I found myself swearing consistently at that continent for the three hours of the event. Every time you needed to get somewhere, there was a freakin' canyon or a massive cliff wall in the way. The only way to get around was via air and there was so much AA that it was pretty fruitless.

Couldn't have been a worse continent to have to attack.

I had lots of fun in the TR attack event on Forseral, VS actually pulled a nice LLU cap while we were busy with the amp station. They almost pulled off an LLU cap to save Neti at the end but we managed to smother it until the hack went through:

Ceryshen is hands down the most defensive continent in game. Ceryshen landscape highly restricts ground armor movement. Ceryshen is very air power friendly. The core bases are also very close and clustered. To the north is the greatest geographical dived in the game, with only one long bridge to move armor across. VS were fortunate to have Ceryshen as a home continent for the event. Good job VS, but don't get all bigheaded over it :).

Dagda the other day, a massive NC raid, hack on, swarms of GGs/tanks/Airchav, poplock or near enough, I bail vterm (20+ NC air there, none even shoot at me) blow it and run to backdoor and there was ONE NC there.

5 minutes after the hack is on, you've got a yellow alerts worth at Lugh, Pwyll and Gwydion, VS drop Dagda and resecure 5 minutes after that.
