Has anyone else noticed that the air vehicle pads in all the bases and towers we've seen have been inaccesible without jump jets (that is, there is no walkway to them)? I get that when you spawn a vehicle you are now automatically placed inside it, but isn't this going to make it really hard to load up a Galaxy/Liberator? Why is this?

I normally don't like blaming things on beta, but it is a pretty safe bet to say that it is incomplete.

I'm thinking, how about those Elevator Tubes? You don't need a "down" on in this case, but adding an "up" elevator would be fairly easy to implement. Maybe add some technical stuff around it, and you've got yourself some nice elevator tubes.

How about it, devs?

we had a topic about this after our first look at the inside layout of a tower, that they all seem to lack backup stair cases or ramps but as Otleaz points out it might have just been Alpha/Beta incomplete, we'll see what the future holds :)

the main reason I was against just having those grav tubes as the only means for ascending is that I can see them being lemming farm points, by the nature of how they work it'll force people going up to do it single file and if you have a couple of locked down enemy AI maxes at the top or heavy hitting AI infantry = meat grinder.

Ha! People here were talking about loading Galaxies with Units. If the tower belongs to you completely, and has an Air Vehicle Spawning platform at the top, I think that the top should be completely exposed.

Enemies can storm the tower, and hold the top to stop the owners of the tower from spawning air vehicles there.

However, this force of campers should be easily eliminated by other airborne vehicles. I don't know what the tower looks like at the moment, but this is a way it could be done.
