moar beta, moar!!!
FFFFF, YES!
We're all like that lonely and poor kid standing outside the candy shop. We stand there looking at all that delicious candy and hoping to one day get the privilege to take a bite. :(
I want that bite, damn it. I want it more than anything I've ever wanted. (Actually, not quite true but you get the deal.)
And yes, more of these videos please. I love seeing any type of vehicular footage AS WELL as any type of day/night cycle footage. <3

I can't wait to put this game on my freshly upgraded computer and turn all the settings up.
The NC are supposed to have slower projectiles.
Plus they're tank rounds so it seems like a good speed on those for me.

Anyone notice that day seems to last around twice as long as the night time? Has this been mentioned before as intentional?

I still find dark a bit too bright, I don't see the point of night vision gear and organizing night raid when it's just a blue filter : (, maybe NC raid will be better at night
Doubt that there's different phase for the moon and a sharp difference between cloudy and open sky, can always hope

Kinda wish it went darker to the point it's really hard to see without headlights.
But other than that, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!
Now only if my computer could handle it...

I'd also like to see less lighting at night time, but I figure that's gonna have to wait for a poll in August'ish when there could reasonably be enough people with access to the main beta forums to actually get a somewhat viable response to it.
I noticed that the extremes happen around dusk and dawn, maybe a total of 20% of the time frame spent between either Dusk where shit is massive dark or Dawn where shit is massive bright.
Like this is my estimate of the day-night cycle (without actually checking numbers).
Dawn begins: 5%
Super bright, can't see anything 100 meters or more away.
Dawn ends: 5%
Begins to even out less ground mist and visibility distance increases gradually.
Day: 40%
Dusk begins: 5%
Sun is setting for a few seconds, super bright on one side as with Dawn however the light does not linger, becomes Super Dark very very quickly.
Dusk ends: 5%
Moons coming out, blue filter phasing in and visibility distance increases gradually.
Night (blue filter): 40%

How bright the night is depends on the moons. They've said it can get REALLY dark.
I'm interested if there will be any other interaction between the moons and the star. I'm thinking eclipses and what have you.

Yup, exactly what I was thinking. The dynamic lighting they are going to have with ForgeLight will really make it seem real I think. The moons give off light but in certain view points, nooks and crannies in landscape/buildings it will most likely be pitch black.... Hence the need for the night vision stuff, when the need arises...

Okay, I know this is a video game, but this is still a tank shell supposedly traveling at ballistic speeds fast enough to where the speed of the shell comprises a good amount of its destructive force. The shells in that video would practically have to be self-propelled and finned in order to reasonably move that slowly in such a manner...
BUT, they ARE NC, so they probably would use self-propelled rounds (aka giant bolter cannon).

Are these shells propelled explosives or solid slugs? I don't know. I just know they typically make explosive, high damage rounds slower moving in games because you don't really have to aim them to score a kill.

I agree, I'm a fan of the faster travelling tank shells. The dust stirring up after the shot implies a huge round travelling really really fast.

The reason I think the round speeds are perfect is because in a game like Planetside tanks having slow rounds gives the ability for smaller vehicles like the assault buggies to operate (for example trying to hit an ATV at medium - long range with a tank wasn't easy, and involved predicting where the driver was going).
Faster rounds for a tank like the vanguard would be game breaking because they hit so hard.

They're slow for gameplay purposes I'm sure. That way it rewards superior gunnery skills since you have to account for lead time, arc, etc at long range and/or fast moving targets.
That and the effective range of modern RL tanks is measured in thousands of meters, but each game cont is only ~8km across. The size of the game world is significantly diminished compared to RL, so the effective range of a tank weapons need to be adjusted accordingly or you'll have tanks shooting from one end of the map to the other. Slow arcing projectiles is an easy way to facilitate that.
And like Deflagrate pointed out, Lightnings and ATVs would get chewed up fast if MBT's had more-realistically-fast moving shells.
