If I have CS retail with the 1.5 patch, can I download DoD or do I need Half Life?

Only asking this because I was able to download Natural Selection with CS retail with the 1.5 patch.

I asked a few questions on the NS forums and found out that I could download NS if I had CS retail despite the requirements it said on the site.

As long as you have the 1.3 patch or higher for CS, you can get NS, ILLOne. I wasn't that impressed with NS though, its good, but I just don't like the gameplay in it as much as CS. Aliens move around so fast, takes a while to get used to that so you don't get disoriented.

I actually quite enjoy NS ;)

Just got back from a big LAN party and NS had a good following over the weekend, commanding was definitely fun. UT2k3 was even better, but DoD took the crown for me (I'm a big WW2 fan) ... all because my PC decided that it didn't want to run battlefield 1942 ... :ugh:

I suck at UT2k3 so i hate it, its a flawed game, else i would not suck at it, i love CS though

NS and DoD are great mods but can both be very frustrating.
I play them often.

I just deleted NS.. just too many "I AM THE GREATEST Commander" morons. really been ruining my fun. So I just quit. I play CS on the KBK server and DoD on the Gogogo Speakeasy server... great server btw.
