Good thing there wasn't a steam sale, because my wallet wouldn't be able to handle it. Might as well stock up.
Wonder if i should drop 50$ on it.

Would be nice if we knew what we could buy (eventually) in PS2 with that. Oh well, probably will stock up on a bit anyway.

You can buy cosmetic armor decals and vehicle skins, XP and Resource Boosters, weapon unlocks and novelty items such as hood ornaments and headlights.
It's been established over and over.

thanks for the thread, probably would have missed this otherwise.
now SOE hurry up and take my fake digital money! ;)
I wish I knew the pricing on stuff, cuz I have $100 worth of SC (2x$50) which I imagine will probably be enough for my needs for like ever, but dunno.

Yeah, I know that. But I want to SEE the stuff before I build up my virtual bankroll. The timing of having this event this week is just a bit off.

There was a triple sale? How often do these things happen? Is it worth waiting for the next triple sale?
Also, I'd like to know whether we'll be using station cash in the beta or not.

It was in late April, sorry you missed it :(. I don't know if this is like a once a year thing, it was a sweet deal though. I think people have speculated that they'll probably give you 'beta bucks' to test the real money currency, but only for the beta. I could be wrong though

Yeah how often are those triple sales? Would like a fool to buy now if there is a triple sale before PS2 even comes out.

Thanks for the info. I ended up putting in for 2000 SC, just so I have something to play with should the game be released before another triple sale. I don't really like spending money on something without knowing what it's really worth though in-game, but this is PS2, so I guess exceptions can be made.

I'll wait until the Open Beta or the actual release before putting money in PS2. I think that we will get similar deals then and we'll also get to see a wider variety of stuff to purchase than we get now. If the purchaseable stuff are awesome then I'll certainly buy several things.

I have bought some (on the basis that it will be transferred to PRo7 as was said).

Ok Higgles, I've loaded up the Station Cash, Signed up for beta, filled out the specs survey and I'm an original Vet.....apart from waiting which I've been doing a shiteload of, what else do you need me to do to get that beta invite ASAP? :D

This. I don't want to do something I later regret, just as I did with T:A.
I'm also concerned about Pro7 having different currency, so I'd advise EU players avoid buying station cash for PS2 until we get some clarification.

"Under the new partnership with ProSiebenSat.1 Games, what can existing SOE customers expect to happen to their game characters and progress?
We will offer a simple way for any current SOE European player to create a new account with ProSiebenSat.1 Games and to have their existing characters and game progress transferred and the value of any Station Cash in their SOE account granted to the new ProSiebenSat.1 Games account. After the process is complete, European players can login to their ProSiebenSat.1 Games accounts and continue to play with their existing characters, rewards, and content."
That is from a while ago though, I tweeted some of the devs hopefully they will be able to shed some light on it before the sale is over.

I just hope SOE is going to keep P7S1 on a short leash when it comes to what is offered ingame, best case it will be the same items as offered in the US version.
I've read some nasty stories about P7S1.

Not certain there is a cap. Why would they cap something that they can make real money on?

Just read a post from 20th June which made it sound like everything is going over at the same time made no mention of station cash

I am getting more tempted to spend some cash though.

I doubt that it will be a different currency frankly. It would be a marketing failure and we all know that Sony don't let that shit happen in their house :)
Also I'm worried about the devs doing a Dice transformation over time, so that's another huge reason why I'll wait for a while before supporting the game. As long as they keep their promises and are community friendly then my screen will be covered in green goodies.

How often do these things happen? I'm European and don't want to be screwed if Pro7 have a different currency. And if there's a triple sale I'll rather wait for that considering the game will probably be released near the end of the year.

Hrmm.. it says that today is a Double Station Cash day, but when I get to the actual purchase-screen, there's no indication that the amount will be doubled. It just says "$10 = 1000 points, $20 = 2000 points, $50 = 5000 points", etc. Can someone confirm for me that once you buy (for instance) $20 of SC from this screen: http://www.soe.com/stationcash/ , it turns into $40 worth?
~Zachariah
I read somewhere on the Everquest pro7 migration stuff that station cash will be transferred so no need to hold off taking advantage of these offers.

"Are there limits as to how much Station Cash™ I can purchase, and how much Station Cash™ I can have in my wallet?
Yes. You'll be notified by our system if you exceed our preset limits."
Taken from the FAQs on their site. I could have sworn I saw someone post a little bit back saying 30k was the cap.

I believe that during the last 3x sale day I tried to exceed 50k and it wouldn't let me. But it was also saying that I couldn't exceed 30k in a day.
That is my recollection, take it for what you will.

While I don't think we have official confirmation regarding PS2, it would stand to reason that it won't be any different than what they are doing with EQ2 where they will transfer everything.

Quick Question, Sonys website says i have a planetside 2 account thats active... does that mean i can play the game? i looked through my email history and couldn't find a email sent to me (i used PCG Beta key from April issue). does this mean i can download PS2 and have a go?
OutlawDr

Yes you better start downloading it now. Im already hacking your bases.
Not really, everyone that has typed in their beta code has their account set to active. But no one can download it yet.. its a tease

Not really, altough I think it should work too.
I logged in at www.soe.com , hit the "+" button at the top right corner and then it lead me to a page where I could choose how much Station Cash to get. There it said that 42€ would be worth 10 000 SC instead of the usual 50 000. Im accessing the site from Germany by the way.

Much obliged, thx for sharing the info. Bought the 50$ one. That way i feel like i'm just buying ps2. It'S the right thing to do i believe, ps2 is worth every penny. At least that's how i feel currently. xD

Purchased $50 here too. If PS2 is as good as it's shaping up to be, I am sure I will be spending more.
I just wish I could gift some things for friends I have gotten interested in the game as well.

Did $25, then looked at my balance of 5000. Said to myself; You can do better. $25 more for that 5th digit. What a great deal. I had planed to drop at least $50 on boosts and cosmetics anyways. Now just need to wait to give PS2 the credit. :D
