I for one would love to see a giant mech that would be basically a land version of the Galaxy. Not all people that want to have a support role can actually fly well :(

It's all that's missing in my opinion.

got to agree with you on this one. i understand why they are not doing it at lauch, but i sure hope they do it at some point.

as for what i would like to see, i like the idea of one toon being able to get all the certs. but i do worry that every one will end up haveing what is basicly the same toon. so i want to see some way of semi permanantly specing your toon to be more focued on your play style rather than just another maxed toon.

A little less weapon restriction on some of the classes even if it means spending cert points.

Why can't a HA forgo it's LMG/AV for say a carbine/Sniper?

Although it's more difficult to balance with classes other than the HA.

we cant say what we would change as we haven't fiddled with it yet, but hey, we're bored, so what the heck.... can't be too critical at this point yet, but some stuff i feel would make the game feel better...

1. prone
2. suppression
3. possibly move sanctuary farther away from any capture points (peninsula for each start area instead of current placement surrounded by resource points)
4. probably revert/leave ammo kit with LA class
5. add 2-3 person fast buggy (i figure its coming post-release)
6. nerf the 1 person attack aircraft damage output. (like 1 person tank)... come out with a 2 person attack aircraft (fast mover attack chopper) that does equivalent damage output of current 1 player version. = more teamwork! yay!

Put me down for wanting a proper prone/lean mechanic and of course, enter/exit animations. Barring whatever the DEVs have come up with, I'd like to see more dynamics/options for spawning. (i.e. AMS subterfuge tactics)... Some sort of monthly empire objective win condition would be nice too...

That would be a lot of fun. Something like the ARC-170 (Star Wars, 3 man, two rear turrets, one pilot gun, fighter-bomber) or the Grumman Avenger (WWII, 3 man, two turrets, no pilot gun).

If I could add just one thing to the game though, I would add sonic booms when breaking the sound barrier. Then I'd fly really low, hit my afterburners and knock everyone down while breaking all the windows in the neighborhood! :rofl:

PS1 had giant mechs called BFRs introduced in the Core Combat expansion, and general consensus is that until they were nerfed nearly to uselessness, they wrecked the game.

As for what I'd like to see in PS2, I'll wait until Beta before I decide.

BFR's weren't introduced during Core Combat expansion, they were added in part to attempt to make players use the CC system in order to attain BFR certification ;)
Aftershock is when they were added almost a year after CC other than dates I agree whole heartily, they ruined PS

I would like to see some attack helicopter type craft. It would have to be a lot slower than the Reaver etc.. but heavily armed with Maverick type missles :)

That's a shame :(. As a concept, giant mechs are more than awesome and I wish they could find a way to incorporate them while maintaining general gameplay balance. And since this can't be an option now for me, considering their unfortunate past, I'll make a new wish:

Adding a crossbow or bow secondary weapon for the Infiltrator.

I like all that everyone posted. But I would really like all the new things in PS2 to be put on in addition to all that the orginal PS1 had with core combat. That would cover most of what was stated in this thread. All the vehicles, weapons, maps, Base types, Planet perks, Base perks, animations, V commands, emotes,
ect. Then add the extras of PS2 to it. The fact is PS1 was a fun game without changing it. Every oufit chat that I go into, you can hear how many people enjoyed themselves this last week. Command chat also was mostly positive for the game play of PS1. Even the devs were having a good time with their coverted Black Ops. I hope PS2 is not so different then PS1 that we lose what we had with it. It was in a genre all its own. I hope PS2 does not cater anymore to the solo players of other games. If they loved their games so much, they would not be here waiting on PS2, they would still be playing those other games. I hope it will continue multiple vehicles with multiple players guning them. :evil:

Another vote for vehicle enter/exit animations here.

I know some might find them completely useless, but to me they just added so much "feel", immersion and overall awesomeness to PS1. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed that we will perhaps, some day, see them in PS2 as well.

AI Turrets for bases
Sundy gets AMS functions and Galaxy gets Loadstar functions.
5 Classes:Assault,Max,Engineer,Medic,Inflitrator.Ass ault can customize armor and have either AV or AI guns{Launchers or Rifles/Snipers) Max is a max and can customize like in PS2. Engineer gets Light armor,Ace,and Medium Rifles(Puslar,Cycler etc)Medic get medic tool like PS1 has to be near target to heal and same as Engineer gets medium rifles.
Inflitrators get REK, Pistol or machine Pistol and Ace.

You guys are in luck! It's not a copy-n-paste of PS1... It actually was going to be just a revamp to the exiting PS1 when they 1st started the project but then they changed minds and went with redo. Didn't really answer the OP's question though....

This. And I'd really like to see a more conventional class of very fast, non-VTOL bomber-type jet aircraft added to the game. With very long-range capability, and the ability to get to and strike a target very quickly. Perhaps taking off from runways inside a faction's foothold.

'Fast-air' type aircraft capable of receiving a coordinate from a soldier on the ground using a SOFLAM-type tool, and dropping a limited, yet extremely potent payload on a target, and then returning to base and landing to rearm after each run.

A player-driven alternative to the orbital strike, maybe?

In order of importance:


Add AMS, leave Gal as is.
Global lattice instead of perma-footholds everywhere.
No driver == gunner for heavy vehicles
Split sniper and infiltrator roles
More diverse vehicle platforms and split up some roles: design role first, vehicle second, not other way around.
Add more natural and waterbarriers in continents + amphibious or even small naval units
Put Empire warpgates further away from the central mass of the continent, add continents with strategic warpgates
Make warpgates capturable and link territory on different continents by holding territory on both sides of the warpgate (no broadcast warpgates!)
Put out of bounds well within the water terrain (say 300-500m off-shore) and make the edge of continents more accessible and worthy to fight over, includes off-shore platforms and coastal fortresses.
Add pilot and SEAL classes

There are a lot of ideas here I love:
1. No hiding to auto-heal/repair... it's a team game, find a medic/engi
2. Trading medical applicator power for greater range
3. No weapon for MBT drivers... it's a team game, find a gunner or drive a lightning
4. Lower the weapons a little! They don't need to take up 1/4th of your viewing area ffs. To look at the first-person view, you'd think the weapons were being held in front of your chin while you walk!

On the other hand, f*** suppression. Worst idea since BFRs.

Oddly enough I made a site (http://sirisian.com/planetside2/) last week for this very purpose and put it in my signature. Catalogs all the changes I'd currently make to the game or things I feel need to be added.

Too many to really list here since I've followed the development for a while and collected a lot of thoughts. Probably resources and faction balance are the two most obvious changes I'd make since SOE is going in the wrong direction with those.

Well vehicles, no drivers=gunners, its a multiplayer game you want to encourage and show off team play, not discourage it. No switching seats without getting out, thats purely idiotic. Bring back enter/exit animations. Finally, fix the vehicle durability. They are dieing waaaaaaaay too fast, short lived fights are not interesting and not epic, just like solo tanks are not epic but just boring suits of armor. When you die fast there is no memorable fight cause you dont get a fight you just get shot and die in 5 seconds before anything interesting can happen. /snore
