Oh, heh I only ever really think about it in the horizontal range.
If they are referring to the horizontal range then it's going to make a lot of players miffed.

It was explained somewhere that they meant vertical FOV.

Terrible, just terrible.
Higby has confirmed on Reddit that the 74 degree FOV is VERTICAL and translates to 105 degrees HORIZONTAL, so quit ya whingin'. :p

I just started reading and saw: "-74 degree FOV"
and was like WHAT THE HECK? That is like playing with blinders on. This is an FPS. We need 100-120 FOV. 74 does _NOT_ cut it. /dissapoint.
Then I read the other posts and found that it was 74 FOV Vert, (which is like 100 Hor) and then I knew Higby and the other devs do indeed love us.. :)

Did they say if sandstorms and weather hazard are going to be added before release, then?

Every competitive gamer will buy the boosters for EXP / IN-GAME MONEY. Myself included.
LoL is nothing like PS2... they can't just copy / paste their F2P method. Boosters in PS2 will become a lot more useful than in LoL. LoL there is a LIMIT to your level. Limit to how useful those boosters are since they stop being useful when you hit maximum level.
PS2 has countless skills... the need for Boosters will never end. I don't care what they claim even a 1 - 5% difference in EXP / MONEY gain will create a huge gap between those who don't spend money and those that do.
So what by the end of 2 years am I looking to spend 200 dollars for boosters?
They need to explain themselves quickly.
Almost table flipped when i saw 74 FOV but if he means vertical and it means 100 (or up to 100) horizontal then im ok :D

Uh, boosts don't give you a competitive advantage. They don't increase health, damage, or speed. They just help you level faster, but you don't get anything from leveling that makes you any less killable than somebody at level one.
High level people can get head shotted too ya know...

I think this is the opposite of what is usually in the game settings (horizontal?) so it works out around 110 in usual terms. Im going off hazy memory here.

55-75 FOV discussed in the stream today IS vertical FOV, depending on your resolution thats anywhere from ~90-110 MAX Horizontal FOV

It seems like we got a fixed Vert FOV which gives an adaptive Hoz FOV, I sure hope this is the case.
If the game is not Hor+ and the Horizontal FOV is not adaptive for the attached display that that is a massive fail. 3:4 vs 16:9 is a big difference let alone 48:9.
I Play games with ~150 Hoz FOV.

The part when Higby jokes around with playing music from your desktop while inside a vehicle is actually something that I've been wanting for a long time. Kinda like in the GTA series. The week I tried EQ a long time ago, the only feature that I wish I had in every MMO since was the in game mp3 player. Alt-tabbing in a first person shooter to turn on some music gets me killed sometimes.:rolleyes:

A fixed 74 degree vertical FOV? Wow, thats an unusual way to handle things. Not bad at all. Just unusual.
So often a new FPS will have some funky fixed FOV
or you have edit an obscure file
or you use some command line thing.
I like this degree of intelligence in my developers. :)

That's what duel monitors are for. Ya, still have to mouse over and click to get going, but at least you can see if someone comes at you :cool:
