Hey guys,
I was wondering, how do we do this in the future?
I know some games with just 1 client and then you are able to switch regions in the login screen.
But i also know some games which have different clients for each region.
I hope that in planetside 2 you will be able to easily switch regions in the client.
What do you guys think/hope ?
To be honest, I'm not sure anymore.
I read an old thread a while back which said that the EU people had to register with another provider (not SOE) to play their game (I forget the name, sorry), and although there is nothing stopping us from having a SOE account to play on the NA servers, we can't have it all on one account.
So there'd be two different accounts, two different places to buy Station Cash (I think?) and two different sets of credentials to remember and protect.
If this is still true, I'm not sure why SOE did it, unless they were struggling to fund a 'joined up' multi-data-centre solution, all under the SOE umbrella.
I'm sure someone else with more up-to-date information will let us know what the state of play is. :)

Sadly you will be registering with another company, not SOE......
I'm having a hard time believing that. A German company that publishes a TV stations like Kabel eins and ProSieben picks up MMO's? That sounds a bit odd to me.

They want someone with experience handling localized support issues. So instead of having to set up teams from scratch handling these issues in France and Germany they can just outsource that to a company which already do those things. I don't know why they gave away so much though, like the care of the servers and even the accounts, maybe they got a really good deal.

So does that mean we got no EU server for CBT? :/
