There were TR in the same base that VS got spawned in. They didn't head back to warpgate or any crap like that, they were just killed once the event started by the few VS who remained in base.

YOu could have also defended Atar easily, the NTU kept filling and dropship centre is the easiest base to defend in the game - particularly in a courtyard 3 way.

I saw no 3 way. I was sitting on top with my Lancer blasting crap, TR and NC would shoot eat other rarely, but they mainly focused on the VS and stayed on opposite walls from each other to avoid conflict.

Regardless, I only know of one person who pulled stuff before he was supposed to and he's the same on that OS'd VS teamates (who accidently got spaned in Atan and were staying EXACTLY where they spawned ) before the event started. Then bragged about it. He never got removed, its not all of VS' fault that one guy cheated.

Whoa, hold on there... they might have the coolest weapons (in PS1), but that will not convince me they are ever the best empire. Although I'm a TR player, I think the NC are the best overall in weapons/vehicles.

The one problem the TR have is co-ordination. Outside of outfits, nobody listens to the commanders at all or, when they do, it's only after they have had to scream at players 30 times to get them to pay attention.

And this is the issue, using a Jackhammer or a MCG doesn't require an in depth understanding of the weapon to use effectively compared to a Lasher. Sure, 90% of the TR and NC userbase may not use their HA to the maximum effectiveness possible, but that doesn't change the fact that utilizing those weapons requires a very low skill cap in comparison to the Lasher. The Lasher has inherent downsides when we put it in the context of Planetside. Players who abuse warping/netcode and 3rd person only compound the issues the Lasher has in a matchup between itself and rival HA weapons.

The Lasher isn't useless, but there are a lot of issues that simply make it less appealing and effective than every other HA in the hands of the average joe which comprises the vast majority of each empires population. (No, your empire isn't completely filled with tactical geniuses who could qualify for Quake Live tournaments or CS teams)

Actually during the Empire War the vast majority of NC and VS were up north attacking each other. Only a small contingent of VS were south at Cetan. You won the capitol because AFAIK you were the only empire who cared or even made an attempt to take it and the sub-caps to the south and east.
