C4(boomers) and sticking it onto vehicls/MAX

Has it been confirmed/denied that you can place c4 AKA boomers on vehicles? Will we be able to have squads of people doing jihad runs in their atv? or better yet boomer up a MAX have him run into a group of enemies at a choke point and boomer his corpse?

for me I have mixed feelings about the subject, sure it would be a lot of fun to do that but I can see it being abused.

People will find a way to abuse just about any game mechanic out there. The trick will be preventing as much abuse as possible.

In regards to this, I'm somewhat interested to see what everyone comes up with usage wise.

Not so sure attaching C4 to a friendly MAX or ATV and just throwing it at the bad guys is too bad an idea. I imagine the C4 goes defunct wants the person/vehicle is dead/destroyed. I mean, if I had the chance, I'd rather roll an ATV strapped with explosives into a room I suspect is full of bad guys as opposed to going in myself. Valid tactic is valid. Smart soldiers get resourceful.

You need to be able to shoot enemy C4 to detonate it. That way if someone's charging you with an ATV full of C4 you can get a lucky shot off and blow him up.

Same goes for allies who are carrying enemy C4 on them.

Players would get boomers under players all the time, mostly snipers, AMS's or TR locked down maxes. There just still better be that distinctive sound and a slight delay before you can trigger again.

You could "destroy" mines safe in PS1, but would be way more interesting if they blew up this time when you shot them, along with only taking 1 bullet/laser.

Since grenades cost resources, I'm willing to bet that C4 will too. So spawning a vehicle and throwing C4 over it to just get a couple kills or laughs probably isn't very cost effective.

suicide c4 would be cheap kills but i'm not gonna lie some of the most entertaining kills are c4/boomer style.

At the very least they should make it like BF3 where even a small amount of damage to the c4 will set it off. That way suicide atvs or maxes has a higher risk of exploding early if the enemy sees you.

On a similar note, I havent seen them talk about av mines sticking to vehicles. You could do that in BF3. Stick mines to a jeep and drive into enemy armor and getting out of the jeep or dying in it was the detonator.

And yes I know, BF3 references *cringe*

In my long expirience with Suicide C-4/booming on vehicle tactics is that while they work well in certain circumstances allot has to go right to be effective and while extremely fun and hillarious it's not really a sustainable strategy that can be exploited. Ussually after a few instances any decent team will counter it pretty quick.

I am all for it being in a game of this scale because there are so many potential counter measures for it which will keep it balanced and show it as an act of desparation or the complete hillarity such a tactic is purposed for.

Depends? Will they allow me to use C4 to rocket myself through the sky with the wingsuit? If so, I'm 100% for this.

According to the stream from last week it's still undecided. The exploit they named is that since the game if free to play there's nothing stopping anyone from making a second account, rolling a character on an enemy empire, attaching C4 to them and then seeking out a group of targets to bomb.



Would be cool if they offered wing suits as an option when exiting a Galaxy...fly into enemy territory before deploying a chute or something..There should be a pack for the light assault that fits that description, actually. At least as far as I could tell from the description.
