So I was just watching the VOD from Higby's stream and apart from what others have already mentioned about things like the huge king-sized notifications, does anyone else think the death and being revived animation looks very unnatural? It's like a tree falling over sideways or something and being revived looks like the same thing played backwards O_ . Thoughts?

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that it is still in alpha/beta?

Maybe the medics revive tool is just an extremely localized time machine that just rewinds time for the wounded/dead soldier only. This would explain why it shows the reverse animation for a dead guy being revived. :D

Its the lack of ragdoll, and that's fine.

This has little to do with ragdolls. I'm talking about the animation you see in first person view (you fall over to the right side like a stiff object).

When I drop dead, I'll be sure to keep a camcorder recording point of view so we can capture the footage for future animators.

Rag doll. Ps2 Uses canned animations, your POV is attached to the head of the skeletal structure.
If ragdoll was used, your POV would follow the head.

I know what ragdolls are but your assumption is incorrect. For one, the models death animation (which other people see) is not the same as the first person animation (what you get to see). As much as I hate BF3 and comparing it with PS2, take a look at this: Battlefield 3: 64 Player Metro Madness! - YouTube. BF3 has ragdolls but the animation you see is static and never changes. It also looks more natural.

I thought it was awesome how when he died zoomed in you kept that few. Made my chuckle a little

Yeah, it just looks like the camera has no physics attribute added for the death animation. Not something I'd be concerned about at this stage of development.

It looked a little floaty, I agree. Not a big deal though for me.

Not to be picky about wording, but I'm going to be picky about wording.
When Brewko revived Higby, at the "choose your respawn point" screen Higby got a dialog that read, "Accept revive request?". The word "Request" just seems like this wrong word to me in this situation. "Accept revive offer?" sounds better.

I stand corrected. Thanks. I just figured from what I had seen this is one of those things you have to give up due to the scale of the game.

It's pretty much the same thing. Request is a synonym of offer. I think it sounds fine.

Yeah I know what you mean :).
At any rate, I don't think it's a huge issue and it's probably just because it isn't finished yet. But we don't know so I thought I'd give some feedback on it. Hopefully those that get into the closed beta early on can do the same if it's still like that.

If ragdoll was used, your POV would follow the head.
In the game nuclear dawn, when you die your point of view is from your characters first person view, with ragdolls, so if you went flying upwards from the map by a grenade, your POV would rocket upwards with your body.
Adds a sort of feeling like your character isn't dead, butt wounded, struggling for survival.
Not the best video, but it shows you what it's like. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Yp1AoEMM_vg#t=176s)
As you can see, he didn't play an animation or anything, his head just rolled onto the side of a wall.
