Hey Everyone,

Goku, awesome job on providing details on hardware
for those that lust after planetside nirvana ;-)

I am looking to pick up an awesome rig from
DigitalStorm and am wondering what are the chances
that the game would NOT support SLi?

I saw the post about the drives found at nVidia ...Also
heard that TotalBiscuit was using a labtop with sli ...

These all lead me to guess that the game will offer support for SLi,
however, would hate to drop serious coin for no reason.

Thanks ...

Indie games aside, are there games that don't support SLI these days?

Not really sure, when I find a game I like I play it until
another game takes it's place ....

Since 2003 I have played:

- Planetside
- TeamFortress 2

I am absolutely positive that PS2 will support SLI and CrossFireX.

However, 100% confirmation can only come from a DEV.

Higby uses/used two GTX 580's. I also remember seeing on the twitter of Smedley he was playing the game on a GTX 590 (with is essentially two lower clocked GTX 580's) They also had a few GTX 590's in ''portable demo stations'' at E3. I don't think you have to be worried :)

If you're going to buy it from a place that just uses off-the-retail-shelf parts, why not just build it yourself? (Besides saving at least a hundred bucks)

as has been stated the game will support sli. there is already a profile for PS2 in latest beta drivers if Im not mistaken.

not sure how much youll need sli setup though. Higby has said his sli 580s are overkill and games fov limit of 100-110 pretty much stops anyones dreams of using a eyefinity or surround vision setup.

Higby said the game uses a vertical fov of 74 ish, that works out at hor 110 ish on 16:9. given a fixed vert fov and adaptive hor fov with hor+ rendering the game will work with multi monitors. (from what i have seen this seems to be the case)

Just gota hope that SOE have done the work to make sure the HUD works right on multi-monitors.

I see no reason not to. There is quite a few out there with it. You can get a cheap 3 way monitor setup going for around $400 if you get a cheap enough monitor. They have been testing multi monitor judging by the tweets Smed has sent out in terms of performance. He said no single card is going to be maxing the game out at those resolutions.

very cool. just saw smeds tweet from couple days ago saying surround vision and eyefinity would be supported. great news and bad news at the same time. great news that its supported, bad news that Im probably going to be throwing down on another 680gtx. Girlfriends going to be pumped...

PS2 does support SLI. Higby in one of the vids said that they have few machines running on gtx 590s(dual gpu aka sli).
Not to mention new 304.79 beta nvidia drivers include sli profile for PS2

I did a lot of window shopping before buying a new PC and just felt that digitalstorm seemed like a complete rip off unless money is no object and you won't miss it. I love the cases and the time they put into the builds which explains some of the pricing but yikes... If you even make minor changes you pay 2500-3000 dollars for a system you could build for 1500-2000 dollars.

I think Higby confirmed SLI/Crossfire on the AGN stream from the other day...
