May 2003 Release Question

So I was looking over my various SOE accounts and saw one that I can't exactly remember buying PS1 for that says it was activated May 2003. Did they offer some sort of trial at release without having to buy a boxed version?

The trial consisted of playing up to battle rank six. They removed it a couple months ago due to hackers/cheaters.

They did have some free 1 week trials back during release, so it might be from that.
