Buggies, confirmed?

Buggies. They seem to be very popular among the Planetside veterans, indeed I understand why. The developers over at SOE also seem to believe that they are a great addition to the game, however they did state that buggies won't be in the game at launch. At least if I recall correctly.

Though in this article over at Eurogamer which was released today - written by a visitor at SOE last weekend - the author seems to have driven one.

Could this merely be a coincidence, perhaps the author mistook the "bus" for a buggy? Or are buggies - in some shape or form - in the current beta build?

Probably the ATV, However they did say they already had the buggies modeled and will put them in after release.

Well buggys were often used as the heaviest vehicle a REXO could drive, now with only MAXs having the armor restrictions the buggies kind of fall out of place.

I liked buggies they were fast and I could easily get out and fight in a REXO. It was a great skirmisher especailly on those multiple tower captures. While in a air/cav or tank means in order to move into the tower I would have to get out in agile armor.

My favorite vehicle to drive was the Raider, and my favorite vehicle to gun was the Marauder. I hope they both make a return!

PS2 buggy idea: flat bed in the back where you can put a MAX that is freely able to fire at enemies on the move. Get an Engi to ride shotgun and repair on the fly, and you've got a hell of a party.

That would be awesome!

I really want to see a vehicle without any weapons and the sole purpose of it is to drive around with a "MAX-Turret" mounted at your back!

They were actually my favorite vehicles I think. Every empires' version of the buggy was awesome, but I will have to hand it to the TR for having the best.

One of my happiest moments was hacking a marauder. It looks so much better painted in blue and gold :)

As a qualified Englishman, I can indeed confirm we call cigarettes '****'. However, it's not actually in reference to a homosexual person. You could say to someone who is gay 'Do you want ***?' without it getting awkward. :p

Nope, we just call them ATV, quads or Quad Bikes. When someone says buggy to me, I think of one if those cars you drive over sand dunes with a roll cage on it etc.

But yeah, a bonnet is a 'hood' and a boot is the 'trunk'.

Buggies were confirmed a long time ago. They even said that the models are ready, they just didn't figure out how to implement them yet.

Journalists who aren't as familiar with the game as we are make mistakes like this often. Recently one of them referred to the Lighting tank as the "Flash" (ATV).
