A bit of a less serious question... do you like Vehicle Surfing or not?
I personally like it, you should be able to stand on a vehicle while it's moving slowly. I just think that once it starts speeding up you should fly off. It'd just be too goofy to be standing on an ATV or a Galaxy while it's going 80kph+.

This was removed from PS1 for obvious reasons. Carrying a squad on a Vanguard was patently ridiculous.

Provided that it's difficult enough to stay on the vehicle, I don't see why It would have to be fixed. If you, and 12 friends can hop on top of a galaxy and go afk while it flies to a base, it's obviously a problem, but it doesn't sound like it's that bad.
I just don't think it's worth getting rid of all that it adds to the game, just for the sake of the few people that might put fourth all that effort to exploit it.

... wing rider attachment for Galaxy... for jump troops...
else Vehicle Surfing should be difficult but not impossible, like needing to adjust yourself as the vehicle moves while still needing to hold forward to even stop falling off the back.

I think it would be pretty cool. For low speeds you can stand, middle speeds you need to crouch to stay on and higher speeds you'll be flung off.

Imagine a whole tank filled with people on it riding and you hit it with rockets or a mortar shell or something. Haha like 15 kills.

I'm not against the idea of vehicle surfing, only against the complete abuse of it as would be the case with:
- land vehicles ontop of air vehicles
- maxes locked down ontop of vehicles
- turrets deployed ontop of vehicles
- 12 AA HA ontop of a galaxy
That said, one thing I wouldn't mind seeing is a LA using jumpjets to land ontop of a vehicle and catch a short ride, maybe deploy some C4 (assuming he gets some) then ditching. If that same LA were to jump onto a friendly vehicle, the vehicle should have to slow down to some degree for him to enter. I think the best, and simplest thing to do would simply make people slide off the vehicle as it moves. If for no other reason than to prevent the many things that shouldn't happen.

Surfing on vehicles is a bit ridiculous but this is not the realism sim some are asking for so it's OK. Certainly RIDING on vehicles, as in locked into a seated position on top of a tank as has been seen before, would be OK even if surfing isn't.

Pretty much this.
Also, and this is more of a collision detection thing, it really needs to be possible to land your light assault on an enemy tank that's either not moving or moving slowly, and not instantly die. Or jump on one with your engineer/medic/HA if you can get that close and the secondary gunner doesn't see you.

Vehicle Surfing is one of those things I feel needs to be in a true sandbox style game. It's not pratical for many siutuations but it's one of those little things that keeps you thinking and emotionally involved because of that one time it worked great or was a MAJOR FAIL and it was awesome either way you will talk about it for years.

If I see that happen im gonna ask the pilot if he'll head up to flight ceiling then do a barrel roll just for giggles

That was the old, when tanks were slow moving, and not much faster than a grunt hauling ass in a deadly battlefield, this is the new, and look at tanks now.

You will definatly not be standing or sitting on top of one of these things.

If vehicle surfing is in it needs to be made realistic so that things like this wont happen:
Arma 2 - Greatest game in the universe - YouTube

I had assumed this was just a funny physics quirk. While fun, it should likely stay in games like Saints Row 3.

I like the idea of being able to ride on vehicles to an extent. Very bumpy terrain/high speeds could knock you off.
I know this is a totally unrelated game but standing on a vehicle called a manta in ut2004 was loads of fun and created a staple way of capturing the flag in VCTF. When epic took this behavior out of UT3 it felt like they were restricting things and that was one of the many ways they made the vehicles boring.

God damn everyone would hate it when they escape on a manta wing  it felt like hax. I remember attaching sentinels to the wings in V-INV though.

I dunno, I just feel like mounting 5 engineering turrets on a scythe feels a bit too extreme for example.

Vehicle surfing =/= the ability to mount turrets on vehicles.

I know it was pretty much an unforseen exploit as users created the VCTF gametype. It could be pretty annoying sometimes but then you had to learn to prepare for it, by dumping a hellbender on the flag or loading it with mines (or using a well timed predictive AVRIL shot). It sculpted the gametype as people made maps with it in mind, (making it possible or not to mantarun) and it took skill to pull off.
Riding on a manta wing after taking the flag was one of the biggest thrills of that game.
BTW that Arma 2 footage was hilarious. There's a related video of people riding cows with mounted turrets on them. That kind of thing makes me want to buy Arma 2 (as well as DayZ ofc)

Just give mass of the turret to the plane, so it makes slower, less agile, and let them do it. Let the creative dudes do their things, devs can later modify the game if something really break it.
