View Full Version : Manual transmission - possibility?
In the Totalbiscuit stream, at 16:00 302 Found he is in the Flash ATV.
You can clearly see an RPM indicator as well as a gear indicator that changes as he increases speed. This opens the possibility of a manual transmission option for an unlock or somewhere down the line. What do you think about this?

Personally, I wouldn't see the point... if it's for controlling your speed I'd rather have the 1-10 buttons back.

that would just be making driving more difficult than it has to be

I think I'd be really upset if there wasn't some kind of tiny island with a track set up specifically for tweaking out vehicles for the purpose of racing.
Seriously, this comes off as somewhat unnecessary depth.

It would be pointless. Games never do manuals right anyway... hell Need For Speed invented the `autoshift` before any car maker did.

As someone who actually drives a manual transmission car, this is pointless. Most of driving a manual is about feel, which you can't replicate in a game. Adding it in is just adding unnecessary button presses.

I would like to point out that what you are seeing is just an added "flair" or decoration on the front panel of the vehicle and is meaningless beyond that.

In the future, everything runs on a CVT. If we could make one today that could handle the stress of any appreciable amount of torque, your car would too.

I agree with the whole pointless thing. It looks like the ATV is already very difficult to drive without crashing into things. :p

Buick builds high torque CVTs into their cars like the Lucerne. You can gun it and it's a smooth acceleration. Most amazing invention ever.

^ this. Last thing I want to do after driving home in traffic in my manual is...play a game with one. Ugh.

As someone who drives a manual I would love to see an option put in for those of us who would like it. With the different types of terrains and hilly areas I would prefer to control my gear.

Ideas people are putting out there are getting down right ridiculous *face palm*

most racing games have troubles with the transmission model and the clutch model,it would be nice though if i could use my wheel and pedals to work with the bang bus and tanks

Again, pointless.... besides, I don't know any military vehicle that has a manual transmision. Imagine having that in a 60+ metric ton tank.... as if the driver didn't have enough to focus on as it is ^^
Pointless, its just not necessary. Its a Shooter, i want to play simple & Fun.
