Merit Badges?

Not sure if any devs have touched on this yet, but will there be merit badges, or at LEAST some sort of achievement/reward system, like there is in PS1? I always loved getting the 400 kills of X-target, and then 10 in a row, and then earning a badass merit to show off my prowess. With so many games having achievements these days, one would think its pretty much a standard feature.

But yes, I agree fully. It was a lot of fun getting merits, and provided a challenge to work for. Then you could show them off :cool:

If they do implement merit badges, there had better be a cool sash I can wear so I can show them off to my buddies.

EDIT: Zulthus and I are on the same wavelength here. I'm totally going for that lifeguard merit badge once they put water into the game.

I can't remember if anyone said that we will be able to display merits on our player avatars... Anybody able to confirm one way or another?

Buying achieves sounds like something EA would do, like how they recently decided to sell all the unlockable BF3 weapons for 50 bucks.

i don't see why they don't have a shoulder slot for ribbons liek the original...or put them on the chest like real military folk do...or put them on a sash for that matter. even though i really never paid attention to anyone else's i was really proud of mine.

Will merits from PS1 transfer to PS2, I'd really like to have my six year merit (highest you can get) transfer over to show my dedication. I have has an account since early 2004

I would like to be able to show 1 or 2 merits on my uniform and/or vehical. I would also like the pictures to be abit better than just stripes.

I would like to see Maybe for tank buster just a picture of a tank, maybe a better colour the better it gets Bronze silver, gold etc and/or a roman numeral overlaying it.

So we know there will be merits for the cool stuff we do ingame.

But I hope they'll add some "merits" for silly stuff we might do too (things like "You Clegged up, son" : crashing your full galaxy 25 times)

I would like there to be a merit tracking system. It was highly annoying having to go digging through the menu every time you want to check your progress.
