I just got my new rig and 32inch tv for the monitor today. I am going to use this for gaming and my business as I work from home so I will be on this computer pretty much 10-16 hours a day. With that said reducing strain on my neck is paramount and I am curious what the proper height to mount the television is. I bought a swivel mount as I like to work in my living room as that is where I have always worked as the man cave has yet to be started lol.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

Interesting. Only issue is that the viewing distance will be greater than 30 inches and I am curious if that matters. I saw some stuff like that on the internet but everything was close viewing distances. I will be around 7 feet from the TV.

Its angle that is important. So to keep within 30 degrees you need to change the distance as the screen size changes.

Having the screen further away will keep the image within the 30 degrees but at some point seeing things on the screen becomes difficult and causes eye strain.

The general rule is to keep the screen as far as away as you can without causing any difficulty in reading whats on the screen, so for tv / films this can be quite far but you will want to be closer for text.

32" tv is ~400 mm high
at 7 foot (2133mm) away you get a viewing angle of ~ 10 deg.
for 20 deg you want to be 110mm / 3.5 foot away.
for 30 deg you want to be 700mm / 2.5 foot away.
