In stead of sobbing about the major topics like prone, artillery, max's doing things that should be possible. What about things you want to see, like new customs and skins and so forth. What would you guys want back from the old PlanetSide 1 and what new things would you like to see in PlanetSide 2. This is not supposed to start up debates because the game is not even done! Why not just keep your own opinons to your self and give only ideas that ok :D ?
I reay don't see any one really caring for this forum page but its much better then yelling at each other about stuff we cant even test in game and only a fraction know about the micanics of the game so be happy don't worry! ;)

The only thing I wanted to see them to do is bring modern shooting mechanics. Until I play the beta and see how the whole game feels, I have no idea what else they should bring to the game.
I guess I would like to see home continents again, or a home fleet flying in between each planet (assuming they re-do the bending).
Actually huge fleets would be sweet. Adding some space battles would kick ass.

id like to see the old BR-linked colour scheme's come back, as you level up, you get more and more red on your guy. that way you can tell 'oh shit, that guy is bad ass' and run away with your barney tails between your legs

In the future I reaaaaaally want to see island maps and naval vessels, imagine a map with maybe 9 large masses of earth (each one with a base), capturable hexes could be harbours etc. The best way to traverse the water would be by boat because of boat-capacity, imagine the boats holding like 50 people. That would be so awesome and I hope it happens one day!
In the near-future however I don't really know what they should add to the game that they aren't already planning. However it would be quite awesome if you could blow holes in some walls, for tactical purposes, and they would eventually repair themselves with the same nanite-animation that vehicles spawn with.

Dedicated Driver and gunners for MBTs, or if not a heavier tank with that as a requirement.
Also some sort of free cam for recording/machinima, maybe like a UAV for the infiltrator or LA with a limited range
The ability to put custom decals on yourself/vehicles would be nice too. Think NFS series level of customization in that respect. You can scale and put the decal wherever you want on the vehicle. I mean they've already got spoilers right :P

Well since I've already gotten my biggest wish (Vanu ES fighter aircraft), I guess what I'd like to see most is more diverse environments added.
Most importantly, I think that they should add new environments that in many ways are just like the original three continents.
For example, I think that the Core Combat caves would have been better if they functioned more like normal contestable territory. Capturing a cave in Planetside felt like a diversion from the global campaign in some ways, like the only reason to hold a cave was for the benefit. Fuck that, it should just be more contestable land that you fight over because you want to see the world map be purple (or whatever lesser color for you other factions).
So if they add in a cave area to fight in, I want to see it be like it's a new continent. Maybe a hybrid continent that is only 36 square kilometers on the surface, but has a bunch of below ground catacombs as well. You capture underground territory because you want the territory, not just to help you in the "real" gameplay.
Same goes for space and naval combat. More importantly, those unique environments shouldn't abandon all of the classes and vehicles and cert trees from the normal land based combat. I'm not saying that fighting in space should feel exactly the same as fighting on land, but I shouldn't need to cert into a whole new tree just to use a starfighter.
Certing into a Mosquito should unlock stuff for the space fighter variant as well, with only a few small cert trees being dedicated towards space specific customizations. More over, none of the space customizations should be mandatory, and you should be able to use a space variant Mosquito right away when space combat is released.
Space and naval combat should still be unique in a lot of ways. For example, driving a boat should feel completely different and employ a lot of unique tactics compared to driving a tank. Going around as infantry in space should be much more like Shattered Horizon than like most traditional FPS's. But at it's core, it should still maintain all of the same basic styles of the 6 classes, and retain some variation of each vehicle. ATV's become Jet Ski's on the ocean. Land vehicles become more like lunar rovers in space.
I want to see the game have new areas to fight in, both more traditional continents (Searhus and Cyssor could really be breathtaking in PS2), as well as more diverse settings like caves, space, and naval combat. I just don't want to see those new areas throw away any of the core gameplay. They should be like new flavors, not new games.

And perhaps some kind of non-combat area apart from footholds. There are often times I want to be online to chat with my clan/guild/outfit, but I have no interest in actually playing. Sure, I could do this in the foothold, but I would be taking a player slot from someone who actually wants to play. But I guess theres also the screen between char selection and actually loading into a continent where one can do that.

Honestly I think the developers would be capable of branching out into the harder and crazier sides of FPS. Naval, Underwater, and Space combat for me. Shattered Horizons was a good space FPS but don't think it's style would fit PS. Either way, I beleive the developers are capable of pushing even more limits of the FPS genre and being succesful

I would love to see the Titan like airship from Battlefield 2142, and the captureing machenic for it as well, since they already have the conquest captureing in place.
They may already have in it place dunno, check this concept art out. I hope they have plans for it anyway. ; )

I do like that idea its great i really just want to see how prone would work in the game. I know people hate this but just want to see what would work and see one of the many things that put me in the minority.

You really need to stop trying to bring prone up; that ship sailed long ago.
If the devs decide to implement it at some point during the beta then it'll be back on the table, but until then you're just asking to get your threads locked.

Each could be assigned as a home continent.
Remove 2 footholds and keep 1.
Link the 2 remaining warpgates to form a triangle.
Off course Amerish would be for the VS.

I agree with this, except the dictator part.
The Terran Republic would be actively attempting to terraform Indar into a suitable living habitat mind you (while strip mining it.)
The New Conglomerate would be setting up their primary HQ where dense foliage might hide troop movements from orbiting satellites and hostile flyers.
The Vanu Sovereignty would be situated in a cold arctic region around one of the most prevalent (read: still active) pieces of ancient Vanu technology yet to be discovered, and it's drawing a LOT of thermal energy to explain the bitter cold.
Other things I'd like to see are ES buggies that have the same if not better firepower than MBT's (they WILL need dedicated drivers and dedicated gunners to survive.)
Searhus turned into an island chain to facilitate aerial combat and potentially naval combat. The volcano itself should once again be a battleground as well, though possibly a steeper, more vertical fight along the inner wall (conserves horizontal space for multiple islands this way.)
Hossin to be very swampy where rainfall is common, with flooded bases and outposts, facilitating stealth action.
By this point, I suggest a grenade slot inflatable raft that can hold the driver and maybe 3 more? Bonus points if the 3 passengers can still fire their weapons while situated in the raft. Maybe even certs that allow vehicles to float on water, at the cost of land based efficiency? Obviously, the Mag-rider is exempt from such trivial concerns ;)
A metropolis setting. The terrain would be literally roads, rubble (collapsed roads and buildings,) and sky scrapers in place of dirt paths, hills and steep cliff sides.

primary and secondary latice networks for base capture as it is a realiable way to keep back hacking under check
having all 3 empires with a warp sancturary on each shipping continent is idiotic it'll cause a stalemate on all 3 continents and the tug of war is a big part of planetside
allowing the sunderer to be a able to be a respawn point or a mobile repair/rearm term gal is just to big of a target to be of use in a fluid battle i can live without a cloak but we need something on the ground that can move quickly with the front lines that can hide under cover if needed
making sure the balance the cost of vehicles versus the cost of av rockets and ttk on them is worthwhile
CE needs spitfires and other force enhancers for both offence and defence
would like to see more common pool vehicles such as harraser and the empire buggies return

I think it would be really cool to have some troop/vehicle/air specific scenarios or objects. For example, a low-orbit station or something for aircraft that can drop stationary respawn/resupply/turret structures (which murder infantry, so you need vehicles to take them down), underground rail transport for infantry to fight over, etc; - Just little one-off things that can mix up a fight but really allow players who prefer a particular kind of fight to really shine or get into.
They don't even have to be always available either, just ways to spice up a continent for period of time.

1. Sanctuaries. Definitely need this back, and making them space stations would be acceptable.
2. Vehicle entry/exit animations.
3. More indoor areas like the Biolab. Caverns, Subway systems, Underground Mines, etc.
4. Airships similar to Titans from Battlefield 2142 that can be boarded an destroyed.
5. More metagame stuff. Maybe structures that are not neutral but able to be built, and destroyed. Allowing a faction to try an entrench themselves more in a region. Probably the best way to implement Artillery. Might require various missions to be completed.

What people want and what people will get from this game is going to be a bit off i see ^^^^^
I would love to see the sky dome increased so that i could fly to space, then come back down to attack a key point. I would like as well to have it were radars can be jammed by a devise not just a grenade, like a radio tower that helps the enemy and until the attackers take it down then they cant see there minimap.

Id like the ability to call in a Flash if i was stuck out in the middle of nowhere so I wouldnt have to run for an hour to see some action. Id also really love to see naval and space battles. Flying a starfighter to attack and take over space stations would have to be the most amazing thing ever. Especially if they made one of the gens on the station a gravity generator and if that went down yould be at zero gravity. Just so very much they could do with that. Or underwater combat. Thatd be awesome as well.
Yeah and definitely the sharks with lazer beams, i want a walrus that has a plasma cannon on his back too and jets on his flippers also a purple tutu and a tinfoil hat for posterity.

It would be nice if you fell out and your on the go back border they might as well make it a automatic death and have a shark kill you when you touch the water :) to far to swim if they make it not very close to land.
I love the BFRs of PS1! I know that many people hate them because they were too über at the beginning. When they were nerfed they really were an enrichment on the battlefield.
