I'm going to assume it's absolutely nothing in order to avoid any disappointment.

Nahhh, they'll probably be doing something relatively minor with it. I'll eat my own face if it means Beta

The website may, just may, have been the victim of s serious break down on their servers.

It's super duper unlikely, but some moron could have put the PS2 website on the same servers at NA server cluster and some breakdown could have caused them to both come down at once.

It's much more possible that it is a sign of beta.

However it's most likely they're just completely redoing the main website in order to enable it to interface between the backend and mobile devices. So I'm guessing first signs of Wall of Data implementation.

This. This is why I was kind of happy to see it was down.

I think it's far more likely this means that they will be implementing star bases orbiting Auraxis that can be controlled though a new web app accessible on their website. Most likely you can use the app to fire gigantic laser cannons and ANTs on to any continent you like and also they are installing the back-end for enter/exit vehicle animations and had to take the servers down to do this.
