Well, I'm TR, but I think he looks fine.

The Vanu medic, on the other hand, looks like a ten-cent alien version of the Orkin man. The helmet is just hideous.

I honestly hate most of the character design in this game. Has a really cheesy 70's sci-fi book-cover look to it.

I'll be ignoring it for amazing epic space battles. :D

i don't like the looks of most medics, there'd be no reason to wear a paper face mask as a combat medic. What are you going to do, prevent yourself from catching a cold?

I think the art direction is okay, with most of the models for the classes looking good except I think:

TR Max
Vanu tank (the one with the cannon at the bottom that spins)

looks rediculous.

NC Max is probably the coolest looking, but the TR max seriously looks like a power ranger.. not really menacing.
Perhaps after they get some money when the game launches they can re-vamp the look.

:( I like the TR MAX. He looks great. I'm looking forward to being one. Looks kinda like what I would expect power armor to look like, once they get fine tuned where it doesn't have to plugged into something. All the flappy loose plates on the NC one are a little unnecessary. I don't see there being that stuff. And the Vanu are just silly, as always.

you are aware that you will be able to buy stuff to customise the look of a character from the SOE/PS2 shop right?
I hardly think it's worth a thread just to air your opinion on the basic "flat slate" show pony medic when we already know you can change the look...

If anything you should complain about the new NC infiltrator look. The last model was all black and sleek as hell. The new one is "let me put on more blue/gold bling to sneak around with".

But yeah, plaid is never a good idea.

I would have to assume that all NC medics learned medicine from watching Scrubs and House so ya, he's not supposed to look like a trained professional. The plaid works fine for a guy who says "Wow! That's a lot of blood. Nurse I need 50 cc's of Jack Daniels and a roll of duct tape STAT!".:lol:

Same here except for one character in particular: NC Infiltrator. Particularly in it's full black design and with desert camo.

I have a short question that's not exactly relevant to this thread, but not important enough to start a whole new one. Just started wondering when I saw that picture.

When we create our characters- do we design our own faces? Or are they generic like most FPS-games? As it seems like we may be able to toggle the helmets on/off.

I was there.... It was terrible.... Our worst defeat to the Vanu, yet! Their flying hawkmen with glitter guns were WAY too OP. Frickin' SOE! We never asked for new units!
