Planetside 2 Build Complete: Silverstone FT03B, Asus Maximus V Gene, i5 2500k, HD7970

Just got done with this build. I love this case its very nice and I think all my future systems will be SFF. The only thing I might do is send this 7970 back and get two 7950's instead. The Sapphire Dual-X 7970 actually takes up 2.5 slots, therefor you cant use them in Crossfire on most motherboards.

I'm also going to replace all the fans with the new Corsair Air Series.

The 2500k is at 5.0ghz, the 7970 @ 1200/1600.

Looks awesome. You did a great job cleaning the internals. That case has such an odd layout.

That is going to be such a tight squeeze with two 7950s in xfire! Will make for a great setup though.

The fan on the bottom left can come out and be replaced with 2 80mm fans. It can even fit 2 7970's comfortably. (Not the version I have though, but due to its height not its length)

that will run PS2 no problem,i dont think you will need to go cross fire

Nice build. I like too like the black FT03 better than the silver. I have the same MB incoming for my upgrade.

Some updates.

Swapped the Sapphire 7970 for an ASUS 7970 DirectCUII-TOP
Changed the ram to 30nm Samsung, its at 2133mhz 1.55v.

Added a custom loop, dropped load temps by 6c, Radiator is not large enough to remove all the heat, as it will get to 74c over the course of 15 minutes and stabilize. In the last pic, you will notice there is enough room with the bottom 120mm Fan holder installed to fit another Blackice GTX120, I already did a test fit and it clears the ram with about 1/4" to spare. I will be ordering the radiator soon.

Tubing is Black Tygon.

Its like my 3 or 4th custom loop. I used to be really big into watercooling back in the day when everything was basically hand/home made. People used to use heater cores from cars or motorcycle radiators because nobody made PC watercooling Radiators. I remember making my own copper waterblock on my drillpress and brazing it together with torches.
