I dont think this is a propper war this is more like the big kids beating up the little kids for their lunch money kinda deal.

anyway its 6am in Iraq, give them time to have their brakefast and a nice shower, THEN you will see some fighting ;)

I have an idea as to why they started the war like this.

Intimidation... they HOPE the Iraqis will surrender so this war wont get to ugly. AT this point I hope they do as well.

They weren't aircraft! They were Tomahawk cruise missiles!

MrVulcan
2003-03-19, 10:34 PM
it was 2 dozen cruse missles (from 2 locations), and a wing of 117A fighters too!
They all hit the same target!

F-117As don't operate in daylight (it's dawn in Baghdad).

MrVulcan
2003-03-19, 10:39 PM
well, they just did, the prez said they just did :p

wouldnt be the 1st time they did that, since the 117As are using cruse missles too, they dont have to get that close to the city :p

*oh, now there are 2 targets, 1 in the city, 1 just to the south*

mistled
2003-03-19, 10:44 PM
yeah, it was 117's... according to the general they were talking to on tv, they probably used those because they use lasers to target with and would be more accurate for this 'attack of opportunity'

Its not moab.......

The cruise missiles were probably used to soften targets and the F117's were used to drop bombs on said targets. According to CBS radio, somewhere in the range of 3 dozen cruise missiles were used.

On a related note, the US has already taken over Iraqi radio and television. Right now, the US is broadcasting on Iraqi radio.

F117s fire 2 cruse missles now adays, not normal bombs or missles, they are just light strike fighters after all :p

The MOAB err... MOFO sorry, is actually a more powerful than the old Daisy Cutters.

Also, CNN (yeah, yeah, I know) claims that this strike was a "target of opportunity". They had intel that said Saddam was at some location and they pounced on it.

I sure hope they got him. With him gone his troops might be more willing to stand down.

Dawn = first light

The attack occured a bit before dawn, hence why they were used, still dark.

MOAB=tactically useless because it'd set half the city on fire...those flammable mists man, lemme tell ya.

MrVulcan
2003-03-20, 12:45 AM
so, he still lives... perhaps we hit some of his generals, etc...

and the MOAB is very good vs like... the entire normal republican guard b4 they go into the city :p

Budz

Yeah, the MOAB won't be used on any cities. At least I hope not...

Its more of a terror weapon. Drop it on some troops to scare the sh*t out of their buddies.

As for taking out a large group of buildings, say a factory or other large complex, I don't think it you can really top a concentrated heavy bomber raid.

Course Im a little partial to carpet bombing anyways. :D

I say screw all the innocent civilians. NUKE IRAQ!!! Then we could be shure Saddam was dead and all his weapons of mass destruction were gone. Then we could end the war and help build Iraq back up with virtualy no US losses. :D

Hamma

Is the MOAB even in our arsenal yet? I thought it was still being tested

Mauser101
2003-03-20, 11:30 AM
For them to so publicly test one a few weeks ago, we must have some ready to go. I think it was more of a propoganda video that was probably intended to make the Iraqi leadership loose bowel control.

*but those going off there are just normal cruse missles, if the MOAB hit, it would take out a very large part of the city

Hamma
2003-03-21, 08:46 PM
Using a MOAB in the city would be a big mistake haha, perhaps out in the field somewhere we may see it.

Our troops have not yet entered the stronghold of the enemy.

Pray for them.

I pray for no one.

I wanna see some more pretty mushroom clouds.

I wanna see people fighting in the streets, death and mayhem, genocide, and tanks. I wanna see tanks crashing through buildings. I wanna see Apaches unloading their payload on an Iraqi sniper sitting inside a broken building. I wanna see paratroopers dropping grenades on people. I wanna see the sky turn black from all the oil burning and Bush choke and die on a pretzel. I wanna see Clinton get hit by a car.

I wanna see a beer that doesn't go flat.

You speak for the burning desire in us all, mtx. But on the outside, I like to pretend I give a shit.

Just for the record, and the morons among you who cant detect scarcasm, that was a joke. I pray for the soldiers, both US and Iraqi, and all the civilians that are coming in harms way.
