Does anyone else feel cheated?

There's something that's really bothering me and that is SOE's way of handling beta priority. We can all agree on that SOE has on numerous occasions said that PC-gamer keys are higher on the priority scale than twitter/facebook keys and normal sign-ups, right? (One example here: [1] http://i.imgur.com/pfy5L.jpg )

Now Smedley has gone and said that that is NOT the case, just a few days before the beta is supposed to start.

Now if SOE hadn't gone out and said that PC-gamer had higher priority then I wouldn't have a problem with this but since they have gone out and said it and through that made people buy the magazine just to get in to the beta early they have completely misinformed a lot of people and made them spend money on something they wouldn't otherwise.

This isn't acceptable and they should at least come up with some sort of apology

I'm not even concerned, in fact its to my ADVANTAGE having obtained a twitter key.

But before I go further blaming them or not, where did they say that? I know they gave a list of priorities, but this might just have slipped their minds, unless they specifically said all keys were now all the same, again, "clearly".

I just don't want to jump the gun without seeing their words you blame them for.

Priority keys are all the same priority. They don't have different levels of "priority". It's not that complicated. Deal with it.

If money had changed hands for beta keys (has it technically in terms of PS1 sub's? :p) I might understand the use of the word "cheated" in thread title.

Otherwise, whose to say it's a "lie" and not just a mistake or a change in policy. There are no guarantees here. A beta tester is about them, and the game, not us as individuals. When/if any of us start paying money for a service and something goes wrong then I might understand some of the language being used here.

An apology wouldn't hurt, but it won't get you beta testing any faster either which way.
