Everybody did... months ago.
It was compensation for PS1 being hacked a while ago

They were supposed to all have expired months ago. So if you have one, count your lucky stars and don't tell me about it.

I got a 30 day pass in addition to another 30 day pass given out as part of the Planetside Day stuff. I think it was because in giving the first 30 they canceled the last few weeks of my 3 month payment (without a refund) and wanted to compensate me for that. I wonder if the same happened to you?
Also they did give out 45 days about 9 months ago as part of the account hacking compensation. That would still be there if you never logged in.

I got 45 days too. I didn't know what the reasons were though. I thought it had to do with veteran rewards as when I logged in I remembered getting 4 and 5 years rewards, but that's something in-game I guess. Sounds like the 30 days + 15 day hacking compensation that others are talking about.
I started two accounts by accident: one in 2003 and the other in 2006. I'm on my 2006 account, and I can't get into my old one. I just asked Sony to see if they could merge them, so I'm interested to see if there is more free time too :)

I only ever got the 30 day pass when they kicked off the Planetside Day thing for July. Time is up now though.

There's two different things:
1) 30 free days for Planetside Day
At the end of June (28th or so), they gave out 30 free days to anyone who has ever played PS1 (subbed or for free) to give a pretty epic population surge for Planetside Day on July 1st. The free time was restricted to that timeframe and ran out on July 28th.
2) 45 free days for "oops, sorry our customer database got hacked"
After SOE's customer database was hacked into back in May 2011, they gave out 45 free days to anyone who has ever played (subbed or for free) to make up for it. Those 45 days were counted from when you first logged in again, so if you didn't know about this and only tried to play PS1 again just now, congrats, you still have 45 days to play.

You had to claim it by August 31st, 2011: www.soe.com/securityupdate/welcomeback/

A friend of mine logged in when I told him about the 30 days, and he got 45 (without even knowing where they came from).

Thank you! I wasn't going to lose sleep over not knowing why I had 45 free days when people were talking about a free 30 days pass, and why I'll be able to play until August 24 while many people will run out of free time very soon.
But now I know.

Yeah I quit playing near the end of 2005, and now I see I have 45 free days for Planetside one. Just gota find my CD's so I can get my Planetside fix. :groovy:
45 days of free play sounds cool
