Really not sure if I wanna shell out the 15 dollars for what could be only 3 days of play, even if it does guarantee me a place in the beta first day. Then again, if I DON'T get in right away, I would have something to play while I wait...
But I've never played PS1 before! How could I possibly manage...?

Well, hopefully it isn't too late. Just decided to shell out the $20 (NOT $15, to my kind of surprise). So, yeah. Guess I'll be soloing in PS1 for a couple days. Get a feel for it. Hopefully I'll finally achieve my dream of being in the PS2 beta...

I agree again I know it's just a ploy by SOE for some extra cash.. but as sturm said tired of the beta drama and the possibility of waiting 2-3 weeks is ughhh.. I have enough money where 15 bucks is worth getting in monday so I can finally play the game I have been waiting years for. but now they won't even take my money.

Except right now the Free 30-days is still going on. I was only charged the $20 for the game itself and I have a pass for 1 month. Maybe that's giving some re-subbers some issues.

I don't think that many ppl are spending 15 bucks for a beta. That's something only hardcorefans like us at psu will do.

I'm a little confused on this. On June 4th, I resubscribed to Planetside1, that was about the time they gave out the 30 free days. According to the math I've done a few times (I could be wrong), my subscription should run out on Friday, 8/3. However, when I opened the launcher on Thursday it said I need to subscribe. Will I be in the pool of 'current subscribers', or am I just that unlucky? I definitely would not like to have to pay for another month's subscription to just end up playing the ps2 beta. I just bought a new video card to play ps2 so I can't really be throwing my money around, but it would be ridiculous that my sub should end the day before what may be the cut off time.

Here's to hoping I get my email within the weekend. I'm hopeful that this will work, but skeptical at the same time what with the 30 free days of me technically not paying for a subscription. Hell even if it doesn't work, I've still got an awesome game to play until I get access.

I wouldnt expect the mails much in advance. I beleive tech test invites have mostly gone out like.. 9 am San Diego time which I believe has been like 5-6 hours before the test. Might even be enough for me to download the client before the test lol.. :D

Alright, I hope 5:40AM PST is "before morning" so i count as active sub.
Good thing I was paranoid and decided to look into whether or not you count as an active sub if you have 45-days of playtime (even though you just added a sub) i believe you have to have already been charged and are in the "middle" of month-to-month or whatever option you chose.

idk, fingers crossed. I would expect 6-7am to be the cutoff time if its supposed to be "morning"

Me too. re-subbed about 7:55-7:58 am, which is 4:55-4:58 am their time. Hoping it's not some automated procedure and it cuts off during their opening hour when someone pushes a few buttons :X

Of course, the clever ploy here is that if so many people resub to become "actives" then they could drop actives off the list and just make it "vets" again.

Either way, I resubbed fully understanding that I was probably too late even before Smedley dangled a semblance of hope right in front of our faces.

I still expect to be in within the first week or else :evil:

Would be one of the cheesiest things I have seen. A Planetside vet is determined as someone who has never played the game and signed up for the first time 5 minutes before a deadline. Just wow.

I'm a fairly shameless person. Also, more power to those that pay an extra $5 over the sub to purchase the game altogether. If they think PS2 is worth $20, then that's what it's worth!

Now if only PS1 would NOT crash whenever I move to another continent.

I thought i was the only one it still did that for . . . It's only every now and again but really?! It's been 9 years why hasn't that been fixed!

Besides, I resubbed and spent a couple hours on earlier, I still enjoy it, so even if the ploy doesn't work I'll just play Planetside 1 till I'm in beta, win win for me, and they get my money, so win win for them.

P.S Some people in this thread really need some tissues to wipe the tears away, fair bit of shameless hate . . .

But what the hell, they also told players that station cash would be transferred to seven cash and Smed shot that down last night also.

Nothing is really concrete until monday QQ We'll know if resubbing early this morning amounts to priority one access or just Planetside 1 access... and by gosh, most of the people currently/consistently subbed players will probably be playing PS2 once they get their invites (except the BF haters,) so I'm not even sure how much that PS1 access will be worth come monday.

and STILL people come up with old crap which they said last year just to start another rumor hype up
