What Planetside 2 customizations would you want?

I'm betting the Dev's really want to know what we would pay for, so lets be heard!

Just to make sure this thread is of value, lets make some ground rules:
1) Assume SOE has the legal authority to do it. As much as you might want a Master Chief skin, its probably nigh impossible and won't happen. Halo's a bad game anyway :lol:
2) It has to work within the framework of the game. A model that makes a Heavy Assault look as big as a MAX would not work.
3) Feel free to include any type of customization. Skins, Helmets, Visors, Glasses, Full Armor, Weapon mods and etc. but make sure it's cosmetic!

I'll start off:
I play VS, but I would definitely pay for a Helghast helmet for my TR Heavy Assault!

Custom logos, especially for outfits but even for individual players.

Do whatever it takes. Charge a ton of money. Warn people that there is no refund if the logo is rejected, and there is no option to dispute the rejection (perhaps give a discount on the next logo submission if the first is rejected and was not blatantly unacceptable). Reject all graphic language and imagery, as well as any copyright infringing material.

Just work it out. The players will pay.

Beyond that, I'm mostly interested in an orange tint for my VS visors. Maybe some classic skins for some of my weapons and characters as well. I definitely would be interested in any VS armor that featured lots of black and purple instead of the grey seen on a lot of the current standard models.


Oh, and rainbow colored afterburner flames for my Scythe.

I'm hoping for emotes, voicepacks, and pretty much anything hologram (LED emotes, jetpack trails, projected hologram sights, etc). Anything more original than camos and hats will impress me though. A good example of creative cosmetic customization would be a game I picked up recently called Blacklight Retribution (very different idea than PS but also F2P FPS). SOE could gain some inspiration from looking at it.

On the gameplay front, I'm hoping there are a lot of different sights & scopes with different levels of zoom and designs. Also, I'm hoping for magazines to be customizable eventually, such as extended and quick reload mags available (with concurrent tradeoffs).

I asked about the availability of night vision goggles in the cash shop but it never made to the list when the AGN last had Higby online.

I'm hoping there will be some ability to customize armor using a similar system to GW2's dyes. But I think they only have color/camo swatches to work with currently.

I would like to see the option of buying callsigns for your vehicles. Everyone knows (or will know) what a Liberator looks like, so buy a tag where you name it "Loverator" and it shows up where "Liberator" would be. Of course it should cost just enough so that not everyone would buy it, but still affordable enough where outfits and hardcore players would love it :)

Different camo patterns in a wide enough variety of appropriate colour schemes that there's room to show some individuality without being silly.

Decals such as shark teeth and pin-ups for the aircraft, or the ability to name them.

more professional looking camouflages that aren't glossy paint.
Maybe a ghillie of some sort for the infiltrator who is a sniper.
Different cloaking "effects" for the infiltrator. Like one where he slowly phases out of view, one where he has hexes that kind of blink out of view, one where he flickers out of view like a bad TV image, etc
The customizable armor peices are amazing and I hope they make lots more of them.
Outfit patches/logos for shoulders and to paint on vehicles. I would love if they would do silhouettes for vehicles like in white or grey instead of full color logos, but either way is nice.

I would really like some slight customization to the body of the vehicle. I know we can't change it drastically because you want to be able to identify it instantly, but maybe something akin to a brand change.

E.g. getting a GM SUV vs a Toyota SUV. You can still tell it's an SUV, but the style is different. Maybe my galaxy is more square, or another is more sleek. Maybe one as twin wing engines, instead of singles, or more of a "stealth" profile, or swept wings or something.

I love the galaxy, but I would like a way to customize the appearance more than giving it zebra stripes. Still obviously a galaxy, but more my style.

Arctic themed armor. I'd say desert/jungle themed too, as in rolled up sleeves or muscle shirts, but the skin color of the head won't necessarily determine the color of all other exposed skin unless coded that way.

Also, while not for PS2, I'd love to see Sackboy ala LittleBig Planet 2 include TR, NC, and VS armor into his wardrobe.

I would also like to have outfit and / or faction logos on vehicles and armor but also minor skins that look like they are pained over the camo. Like Pin-up girls on the bombers or the iconic shark face on fighters in WWII. The more customizable the better imo.

And armor cusomizations would be really awesome. Even down to specific parts like if I only wanted armor on one leg instead of the other for a specif class or I wanted more rugged appearance to the armor like it was over used and not out of the box new would be cool to see.

Also cold weather / hot weather versions of the armor would be awesome, a very nice detail that would completely seperate the continents.

A Ghillie suit for snipers is totally OP. Pay-to-win! Have to say no to that one.

I think the camo options you suggest are ok though, but not for purchase. They currently look silly and are pretty standard things in all militaries.

I also think some BR gear is required.

Well right now I know on a more serious note there will be extra padding one can apply to their light armor (LA, engi, medic armor) like shin guards, thigh guards, wrist guards, waist armor, and even a full face helmet. The ODST seen in the CGI trailer everyone is mistaking for the HA was in fact the New Conglomerate LA/engi/medic armor all padded up. I imagine if these pieces are not available in game, they'll be cash shop items for sure.

Beyond that, there's silly bits and bobs like horns on your helmet. I'm counting on SOE to keep creating more serious armor pieces along side the silly ones though.

Customizable crosshairs for scopes/red dot sights would be cool.
