View Full Version : Migration from SOE to Pro7 and eCash

I had hoped that in being migrated to Pro7 as a European player my station cash would be converted and carried over with me.

I see smedley has kindly offered to settle a refund for anyone that purchased station cash specifically for PS2.

I doubt that Pro7 is going to be offering double or tripple eCash offers as the game launches.

For those of us that planned ahead and spent our money most effectively I feel a little cheated and miffed.

Indeed, I aswell bought into Station Cash as soon as I saw the devs advertising the double-deal.

Under the new partnership with ProSiebenSat.1 Games, what can existing SOE customers expect to happen to their game characters and progress?
We will offer a simple way for any current SOE European player to create a new account with ProSiebenSat.1 Games and to have their existing characters and game progress transferred and the value of any Station Cash in their SOE account granted to the new ProSiebenSat.1 Games account. After the process is complete, European players can login to their ProSiebenSat.1 Games accounts and continue to play with their existing characters, rewards, and content.

Wtf?
I have 10000SC on my account, with I brought during the double SC deal. So that means I will lose 5000SC because it wont be carried over, but the FAQ says we get it transferred to our Pro7 account? Not to forget that DUCO EU players who created an account, also got their value of SC, transferred on their DUCO accounts? I have the feeling Smedley means that if you don't like that your SC gets transferred into Prosieben cash, you can ask for a refund. I will send him an e-mail to ask for some clarification first.

Listen my EU brothers, don't spend a dime on Planetside 2, because the money doesn't go to the devs that put so much effort and time into their game, it goes to some random company that only screwed us, EUs, from the start. Unless they can allow EU players to use SC, don't expect a dime from my wallet. I'm not buying a single Pro7 dollar!

Station Cash, or no cash at all.

Do you really think SOE doesn't get a dime from Prosieben? That would be stupid if it works like that.

Stanis

If that happens, no problem.

I did read the reddit Q&A and stating "no Pro7 cash only" wasn't an encouraging response..
If he was aware cash is transfered a bit of good customer service would have been to mention it.

If the transfer goes something like

$10,000$ SOE at double-offer = £10
£10 = $5000$ Pro7

I'm going to be annoyed.

Great way to kill the game, I guess.

I'd rather pay SOE directly too, but in the end I'll support the game I like, whether or not it's hosted by Pro7.

Ugh, do you really think it works like that? They made a partnership, they agreed to certain conditions. It would be fucking stupid for SOE to say that prosieben can keep all the money. And what selfishness exactly? I am almost sure our SC gets transfered over. It states so in the official FAQ, and people who play DUCO, also got their SC transferred over.

Perhaps the Station Cash is only transferred if the game you were playing on the US servers (via your SOE account) is moved to ProSiebenSat, as is the case with DCUO players.

But Planetside 1 will not be handled by ProSiebenSat, and euro players won't be able to create SOE accounts to play Planetside 2.

However, a SOE Station account is not tied to a single game.

So if you're a euro DCUO player and you want to continue playing that game, you have to "migrate" your SOE account (and Station Cash balance) to ProSiebenSat. Does that migration then delete your old SOE account ?

What if you still want to play any of the other SOE F2P games not yet transferred to PSS1 ? Do you have to create a new SOE Station account and buy Station Cash again ? And what happens when that F2P game is moved to PSS1 in 3 months time ? Do you now have to "merge" your SOE and PSS1 accounts ?

Looks like things are going to be a bit muddy for the next while...

rofl. The worthy adversary for smedbucks

On topic, I would say the odds are extremely low that they will actively track back purchase records just to negate bonus SC. They would make every PS vet hate them for what is nothing but loose change to them

Odds are they will just look at your balance, oh you have 10k smedbux? That will be 10k reichsmarks

I dunno if your SOE account gets deleted. However I do think that when you create an Prosieben account and link it with your SOE account, that the data of the games Prosieben handles, will be transferred to your new account. Including SC. But I am almost sure smedley was talking about a refund, for peole who don't like that their SC gets transferred to prosieben cash. It would be really odd that we don't get our SC transferred over. Since DCUO players did get it transferred over, and it also states so in the official FAQ that we get it transferred over.

This from the ProSiebenSat DCUO site:

However, there is one thing you should know: to log into DCUO in future, you will need to link your existing SOE Station account with a newly created ProSiebenSat.1 Games account or an existing alaplaya account. It goes without saying that all your game progress, characters and items will be transferred, and your Station Cash converted 1:1 to SevenCash. Naturally the Legendary and Premium memberships will retain their usual advantages.

Eh... I got this E-mail back from John:

This is for Planetside 2 only. The game isn’t launched yet (unlike our current games that are switching over).

If you feel like you deserve a refund after hearing that Brad can help you.

Thanks

John

This is what I sended;

Hey,

I am an EU player and I would like to transfer my SC to my Pro 7 account. The official FAQ states that your station cash gets transferred over, and also the people who are playing DUCO, are getting their Station cash transferred to their new Pro 7 account. But I read your post on Reddit, and it isn't entirely clear for me and other people what you mean. Do you mean that Station cash doesn't get transferred to a new Prosieben account when you create one? Or are you giving a refund for people who don't like that their Station cash, gets transferred to prosieben cash. Because I don't mind. I just want to make sure that my SC gets transferred to my Prosieben account when PlanetSide 2 releases. Especially since I brought the SC during a double SC sale deal.

I hope you can clarify this :)

Greetings,

Bjorn

Brad is the guy that I can send an e-mail to for a refund.

But I still don't get it lol. I sended him another mail.

And I got this back:

I did a bad job of explaining that in the heat of the AMA.

What I mean is we have no plans to transfer SC over because it’s a brand new game starting from day 1 on Prosieben. There is no way to buy SC specifically for Planetside 2 right now.

However if people did buy it with the pure intent of using it in PS2 then I’ll happily see they are given a refund including you.

I’ve copied Brad Wilcox who can help take care of you if you feel that way.

Thanks for being a player!

So they have no plans on transferring SC. I do find this odd, since Station Cash does get transferred over to DCUO players.

Oh well, I will just get a refund, and use that money on when PS2 comes out.

[edit]

And I got this back for the refund:

Bjorn,

If you can give me a couple days to resolve some issues working to have having your Station Cash transferred over to ProSieben when the game starts. If we can't work that out then I will get you refunded for the SC. I should have an answer in the next few days, and for sure will respond back with a resolution. Bottom line, your SC will be converted to ProSieben or I will refund you.
Feel free to contact me with any further questions

Maybe there is hope after all :)

Really, SC needs to be transfered, no matter if for older games or for PS2. A good chunk of people got a lot of SC ready for PS2, and that stuff needs to be transfered over.

IF anyone mails Brad again, please also ask about the Vet status. Want to know for sure if that gets over th Pro7 as well (im pretty sure it will, but gotta make sure these days...)

Remember, they make these games not for us. They make these games to make money. I also got sucked in to the hype, and lie machine. When I bought my PCG magazine. I was promised priority access before all. Now it has change to access before those who just signed up via PS2 website. Now they have people buying the original PS1 to get in early. It's all about the money. Not you.

I would never have brought that SC if it wasn't for the double SC deal. I don't say they need to refund me $100 now, but it would be pretty dissapointing to have 5000 SC down the drain since as I said that was the reason I brought the SC.

Yeah I get what you mean. I also don't need that they refund $100 instead of $50 bucks now since that would be stupid if someone wants that. But I hope they can just make it so you can transfer your SC to your new Prosieben account so I still have my 5000 SC extra. And that shouldn't be hard to do since you can already do that with DCUO.

There is transition and there is refunds, 2 separate issues IMO.

1.
Transition of stationcash into Sevencash IMO should be 1:1 (i think someone already said this is what happened to DC:UO accounts), anyone that has xxx value of digital currency, should get xxx plus or minus an exchange rate of Sevencash (pro7 has stated prices should be almost identical so exchange rate should be a non-issue).

2.
Refunds on station cash bought for PS2 is SOE's problem, most players will be happy with a transition approach as long as all european SOE games can use Sevenbucks in the same way Stationcash was used across multiple games (thats EQ2, DC:UO, PS2, etc).

3?
There is also a separate issue of station cash quantity versus cash value of said station-cash.
Any long time players/spenders counld have station-cash from a variety of deals, sources and gifts, there's is literally no way of telling what the specific value of the station-cash in a frequently used account (like mine) is like in terms of actual money.
No one could ever convince me that the lowest price Stationcash bought stayed at the top of the pile while I spent the other stuff first.
It is like petrol in a car, once your driving its only measured in volume remaining not by where and when you bought it.

I can't see SOE inviting this form of refund-drama for anything beyond recent stationcash purchases (maybe 6? months, otherwise "insert arbitrary number here").
I expect it to work thusly:- person yyy paid £/$zz.zz on dd/mm/yyyy, person demands refund, SOE then gives back £/$zz.zz and deletes the station-cash bought. Clean and simples, no one profits.
Admin fees versus interest gained from holding your money for a while would probably end up tallying against SOE but thats the sort of hit large companies shrug-off to avoid drama (no one likes drama).

yeah i meant that if we have problems, we first have to go through pro7, and then to soe...

whenever you add another layer upon the customer service, it get's dilluted. I hightly doubt that pro7 will have full access to the gm services of the servers in the game...

but pro7, please prove me wrong. You get your own gm's that have full access to the game... please... :D
