Who will be watching it? NASA is going to be covering it from 11:30 PM Sunday to 4 AM Monday, with the landing scheduled for 1:31 AM.

That was amazing. So many things could have gone wrong but it was executed perfectly. Leave it to NASA! Was great watching everyone's reaction.

Now give them more money!

Flawless execution. I was tense as hell watching those 7 minutes. I was just waiting for something to be announced that went wrong. Nope. NASA had it handled.

Right... about that:

(The second half of the book "Mr. Feynman goes to Washington" is what I'm referring to but the whole thing is well worth the time.)

Edit:
Alright, my Econ half won't let me just leave it at that without some added words. Government normally does a terrible job of resource allocation when compared to markets but in fields where there is a high risk of loss and low return on investment (such as manned space flight) it's pretty much the best method for it.
There's also something to be said to transaction cost reductions.

I've been watching Curiosity for such a long time that I've gotten sort of attached to it. Seeing it land so perfectly absolutely made my day!
