I would first start by creating a VS character and get a feel for the weapons by shooting them at rocks or something. Probably switch between classes and factions (if they give us the option). Then I would go to a big battle on the front lines to experience the game play.

if/when i get in the beta... i plan on trying out vehicles air/ground) with a joystick vs mouse/keyboard and mixing the keyboard with the joystick if needed.

then i will use those vehicles over and over until i am good and familiar with each and every one...especially the galaxy. i plan on being able to quickly land the aircraft without taking damage seeing as no videos (alpha, e3, conferences etc) seem to have a successful no damage landing.

Create a character, then spawn at the warp gate and take all the time I need to explore the interface, menus, test out the controls, etc. Boring I know, but I'm not the kind to dive straight into action when it can otherwise be helped.

After that I'm probably going to hoof it to the nearest frontline, taking a scenic route to explore and admire the contient(s) I'm going to be spilling blood upon for possibly years to come. I fully expect to get sniped off within a minute :p

You aren't a PS vet until you have done that or kill yourself with a grenade at a terminal.

One of the first thing i want to try was inspired by the cinematic trailer:

- Spawn Light Assault
- Find likely high spot
- wait for Galaxy to fly close enough
- Jumppack onto Galaxy
- Place C4
- Jump away while pressing the detonator.

So Gal pilots be warned. Don't fly too low:D

But seriously first thing after keybindings/settings is exploring the continent to learn what's where.
