Dune, Desert continent...

Yes I hope for a pure desert continent for an earlier newcast in Iraq showed like 5 tanks roamin towards baghdad......now amagin 50+ tanks and buggies and quads....along with all the air support.....sweeeet:D

Yeah theres a desert continent it's called ishundar. You can see it in some of the screenshots. Try the media section

From what the devs seem to be saying, all the landscapes available on earth should be on Auraxis.

I'm a hardcore dune fan too! Its cool that they have a desert continent. If I wasn't already in a clan I would make one called "the Fedaykin death commandos" hehe.

The vangaurd has the biggest gun in the game and its a 150mm.

BUT MAN I ONLY PLAY ON MTN ARTIC OR DESERT PLACES i have had bad memories in forests... Knew I was missing a letter somewhere, but it's closer. Still think the book is better, but at least Sci-Fi Channel's is better than that first Dune movie. :scared:

Seahrus is a big volcano, but that doesn't mean you don't have ash flats in te volcanic basin.

As for totally flat, Dune-like deserts, that wouldn't be too fun to fight on now would it? And you wouldn't be ambushing a damn thing on terrain like that either.

Just saying flat desert like Dune is a flawed sentence in itself. Dune has many sand dunes, hence the name. I doubt Searhus will be desert, more volcanic. The names are:
Muad'Dib
Fedaykin Death Commandoes
Trust me. I read Children of Dune and Dune a few times.

Semantics. Then how does "there will not be a desert area with very little ground cover" sound? An endless landscape of sand dunes isn't exactly a very interesting battlefield.

Like some earlier posts mentioned, I prefer arctic levels. I like sneaking around the mountains/hills and snow-covered tress, then everyone rushing out into a clearing where the base is located. Ahhh, it's gonna be great

Shadowviper, Hawkeye: I am so with you on that one. I am not planning on going stealth, but I perfer concealment to heavy cover and in my experience on a jungle or densly forested environment is the only type of place that offers that. (wish we could go prone, then even a high-grass plain would be effective)

As I'm wont to point out, THIS (http://planetside-universe.com/media/main/screenshots/official/2002/200205_nc_vehicles2.jpg) screen shot seems to point that there may be some fairly heavily forest regions. I image these will be more like glens that forests though and they're probably not all over the place. I personally believe that Cyssor is the most likely candidate for having these heavily forested regions. (I can only hope)

Along with that, I'm really looking forward to these glacial arctic regions. I'm tired of seeing arctic tundra. I want canyons can crags made of ice.

Now that i actually read the rest of the thread....yeah, jungles are gonna be awesome. Probabaly the equivalent of urban warfare, except outside. (yah know with trees and things)
