Yeah I just did this myself, I'm unclear whether that means I'm in and able to play right now...or if I'm restricted to the weekend they're talking about.

I got the full "You're in Beta!" email from SOE so I think I'm good to go as soon I download the client...but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

They did say they would be mixing people in the vet waves and priority key waves a bit, so some people would get in earlier than they expected. This wasn't quite what I expected, but there you go.

It's amazing how many people have no regard to an NDA. Also shows why they choose to do beta testing in a selective way. Less likely leaks from people who just want to PLAY the game, not actually TEST it.

So many people hear the word "BETA" now and think its a free opportunity to check out a game. This is NOT the case with SOE and PS2. When they are inviting you to test their game, you are actually testing their game and they want your feedback/bug reports. Getting to see the product is just a side bonus. Smed has tweeted this a handful of times.

There was definitely an NDA for signing up using an nvidia key, as I read through the entire thing before agreeing to it. So those people saying that there wasn't one are either lying or were in such a hurry that they weren't paying any attention to anything. (The NDA says that you can say that you are in the beta, and so forth, but pretty much nothing beyond that)

P.P.S. The beta weekend that this promotion was supposed to be for, if I remember the date from the webpage correctly, would have been just before priority keys got in, and if the keys had been properly set up they would have only allowed access during that weekend, most likely.

Why are people getting so butthurt defending the NDA? Higby is doing streams himself. Its not like it is that big of a deal. I know the mods here will have to do things about it. I just don't know why any regular user on here would go as far as to report a thread or video for NDA violation.

It makes a huge difference because Higby is part of the dev team. For one he can control fairly good what gets shown on the stream and also if other people would stream breaking NDA they could potentially be exploiting bugs or whatever that might put the game in a state that it is not supposed to be shown in.

It is annoying though how the industry has jaded people's minds of what beta's are, so people don't really understand that this is actually a beta, and not just a last minute game test & hype preview.

Other games DO have beta's, but you usually need to be in a small select group and everything's hush hush.

This is different because they NEED thousands of players to properly beta test.

Not to sound malicious, but in my opinion, NDA's (and I've been through quite a few by now) really hold no weight. Never heard of any serious repercussions from leaked info etc and no one will ever get prosecuted etc. It would simply be bad PR and chances are would likely collapse in a court of law for not being air-tight enough in the first instance. Not promoting anyone leak info of course, just saying anyone with a cell of grey matter will know this and SOE, I can only assume, do factor in leaks as they will always be a chronic problem.
