I've mentioned this elsewhere, but think it deserves more attention than it got (none).

Point 1: We've been told we can bail out of a Galaxy in the event that the pilot lags out. I'm assuming that people could jump at other times as well.

Point 2: No falling damage. I don't remember the name of the gizmo, but all armors are equiped with it. Jumping out isn't going to kill anyone.

This means that you could have a galaxy full of people fly over a base, and have everyone bail out, paratrooper style.

The pilot could then land, hop in whatever vehicle was in the hold, and come join the party.

No need to wait for a landing, just yell GERONIMO, and off you go. The Galaxy could then land quite close to the base (in plain view), on the grounds that the defenders will be busy with other things... like that psycho up there spamming away with a grenade launcher as he floats down.

I'd think you'd want to drop relatively close to the ground though... get you some cover that much faster.

Which proves even more why the galaxy is the best, most usefull, and coolest vehicle in the game.

It could work... heh. It all depends how the galaxy works. If you get damaged say, if your moving a bazillion miles and hr :p I suspect you wont all be able to bail at once. But again, who knows.

Can the galaxy carry light vehicles or any vehicles?

A light vehicle with crew, plus it's own crew.

To get retentive, the official description mentions carrying a vehicle up to a "light tank".

Other official comments mention being able to carry a vehicle with it's driver, gunner, and passengers.

No known light vehicle carries passengers. Hint hint. Is an APC <= a light tank?

Time will tell.

gah!

well sure but if you're falling towards the ground inside an enemy base, who's to say the turrets won't kill u in mid-fall?

But driving a tank out the back of a galaxy while flying would be sweet lol, just wonder if vehicles would get fall damage or can like flip over while falling or something along those lines

It's been said players can't but what about vehicles?

question: Can vehicles be destroyed, or are they invincible a la the jeep in Halo or something?

I don't know if you guys were planning on acually surviving your little trip to the ground. Allow me to explain. When you jump out of a moving aircraft you will loose horizontal velocity fast. Yo will then be maintaining a steady increase to terminal velocity. Your opponent, hidden amongsnt the envrironment on the ground will be able to change his velocity and trajectory at will. Assuming both players can account for movement as they fire, who do you think is going to get shot faster?

If you jump out of a galaxy with the intent of shooting everything, the only thing your going to hit is the ground, hard.

Jump out of the galaxy with common pool rocket launcher and unload straight into the base randomly as you fall...

**nods**

Well not really randomly... shoot for the patches of blue/yellow or purple.

Why not just walk in?

I can see it now....

I'll jump out of a Galaxy in a MAX, and won't be able to crawl out of the crater it makes when I hit the ground. Hell I bet the enemy won't even kill me. They'll just leave me in the hole and poke at me with a stick :(
