Quite sure publishing the NDA is a break on the NDA itself for the person whom has given it to you

Huh? It's available to view to the public as the OP demonstrates by putting a public URL link to it.

Yeah I don't quite get how or why posting the NDA would be a breach of the NDA? Care to explain that?

Maniox

It usually works that way, so I were surprised it was public

He can't breach something he hasn't signed.

You sign it when you click accept. So if you haven't clicked accept, you haven't broken any agreement.

NDA's are pretty standard.....

I haven't bothered reading one in quite some time cause it's all the same...

"If we haven't specifically mentioned or posted about something officially, ie; unless the information is available BY US to the PUBLIC then you can't talk about it."

If you can't link to an official source... then it's off limits.

Not to mention the catch-22s that are always there.

rule of thumb:

If you can google search for it... its fine.

Not to mention the catch-22s that are always there.

If you avoid anything that hasn't been officially announced/covered... you're safe.

Of course this also means not adding any details to anything official that's not specifically covered.

Basically... once you're in... the only place you can talk about the game is in the beta forums, and outside that, you can only talk about what's well known.

You can't even add your speculations anymore as your speculations are biased from internal knowledge.

I've been a member of a alpha & beta testing group that has been employed for numerous games and I've done a fair number of tests....

"Fight clubs" rules pretty much cover it.

First rule of beta is YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT BETA
Second rule of beta is YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT THE FLAMING BETA!!

rule of thumb:

If you can google search for it... its fine.

Not necessarily...

If the results turned up in Google search are themselves NDA violations, then you'd only be perpetuating them.

Only official sources are legitimate.

Is this not a round peg square hole deal? If you have any understanding of the word disclosure at all, even you could beta test with out reading the NDA.

RoninOni

Yah, Basically the title "Non-Disclosure Agreement" say's all you need to know.

Everything else is all the legalese required to make it legally binding.

The way the court systems work, if they don't clearly cover it within the contract, then it wouldn't be legally binding.... so really, scrutiny of NDA's is for people looking for loopholes that could get them out of legal ramification (which is unlikely anyways unless you REALLY violate NDA... they can ban you regardless just because they can. No legalities required. So mostly a moot point anyways.)

Im sure all the armchair lawyers on here always follow every EULA they've ever clicked on too.

From that link:

"Confidential Information" shall mean: [blah] (b) the terms of this Agreement, [more blah]

So.. uhh...

It's publicly posted data.......

FFS they can hardly criticize anyone for saying something they've released to the public.

And it's not like the NDA actually violates any of the NDA itself (talking about content under embargo).

The rules are Fight Club, and be 18+ for some reason.

Ertwin
2012-08-15, 01:54 AM
The 18+ bit is because you need to be that age to legally sign contracts such as NDAs

yup...

tho I'm sure there are prolly more than a few kids out there signing them illegitimately anyways. (understatement)

Alex Forge

Yea no kidding. I bet at least 33% will be signing under 18. There's just no way to enforce that isnt WAY more trouble than it's worth.

Hahahaha! I was just about to ask If anyone had entered any DOBs as I don't recall doing so and wondered how in hell they would then enforce an 18+. Planetsiders think alike? or maybe humans.
