Can someone explain this to me ?

Ok in a Planetside vid (you can see it in the one with the interviews) we can see an Enforcer getting attacked by a Prowler, the Enforcer then begins to fire back and chases the Prowler, then we can see a NC Lighthing joining the chase. Now here's the thing, the Lighthing and Enforcer seem to have the same speed. Now someone tell me why you would pick a fragile Enforcer over an armored Lighthing if they both go same speed, specially since you could have 2 Lightnings for the price of 1 Enforcer. (aside from the fact that Reinforced armors can used Enforcer but not Lightning)

One reason is you can put 2 people into a Enforcer and only one in a lightning

Enforcer appears to be firing rockets. Perhaps they can lock onto armor and vehicles. Dunno, just conjecture.

Also, I'm betting if you put an enforcer and lightning side by side on a plain and had them race, the enforcer would quickely outpace the lightning.

In fact, I've got a video of it somewhere. An NC Enforcer and Lightning are chasing some other vehicle along a base wall. The enforcer quickely passes the Lightning though they are both moving at high speed.

Yeah but aside from fitting into 1 galaxy 2 Lightnings(2 guys) are always better than 1 Enforcer(2 guys).

Ummm that's what i described in my post, they are chasing a Prowler and no the Lightning does not pass the Lightning, they are side by side till the Enforcer veers off hill.

It porbably takes less cert points for the buggies and also reinforceds can fit in. This allows you to jump out when you're damaged and use heavy weapons. A fully loaded buggy could kill a lightning for that reason alone. Two people use AV weapons...Lightnings aren't strong enough to handle that

An Enforcer being able to carry 2 reinforced armor soldiers is definitely a good reason to pick it over a lightning.

Yeah but again since the Enforcer is a 2 man vec and Lightning is 1 man it would be 2 people using AV againt 2 Lightnings so it's not so one side. In fact the Lightning would once again be the better choice because i somehow doubt 1 reinforced armor with rocklet would win against 1 Lightning so 2 on 2 will be the same result.

The Enforcer is tougher? The rockets do more damage?

The thing is, the Enforcer's rocket turret can turn almost 360 of not 360 degrees. It can shoot people no matter where the jeep part is facing, while the Lightning has to turn around or back around or move some how.

Both players would have to have lightning cert though. With Enforcer only one person needs a cert, thus you could transport a medic/stealther/engineer etc etc. Also, a second person aiming while driver concentrates on driving works much better than one person doing all the work.

Why would you say a lighting is as fast as an enforcer when the enforcer was chasing a slower vehical.

The prowler and the Lighting are most likely the same speed but that doesnt mean the Enforcer driver had his foot all the way to the floor.

the enforcer probably has better handling and acceleration. Also, its easier to shoot if you aren't concentrating on driving at the same time, and the enforcer has both gunner and driver.

Ok you get a cookie for the first true reason why an Enforce could be better than 2 Lightnings. :)

(Although i don't think it's all that hard to drive and shoot)

i bet that the lightning wont be as fast in the real version. If you've ever made any sort of game, then you know, you have to start out with something. I bet that was just an early build to show off the game. They probably just threw something together to make a vid. That's why the vehicles basically have the same speed, and the lightnening can fire practically in full auto

Two vehicles with one man each will always beat one vehicle with 2 men. The one vehicle is taking twice as much damage from the two, which means it will lose.

If you think that the lightning isnt fast, think again. Its called the lightning for a reason.
