Planetside 2 allows for each of us to become just about any role in the game but what is that one class that just seems to fit your style of play?
For me, its the combat engineer. Between being able to drop mines of all types, setting up turrets, dropping ammo and, of course, being able to repair vees and MAXs, I really love the versatility of the engineer class and I plan on making it my specialty class.
So what about everyone else? Do you have that one class that you will focus on or will you try and be good at everything?

Primary - TR Engineer
Secondary - Heavy Assault, Infiltrator

I love support roles, so I'll have to decide between Eng and Medic. Playtesting will determine which one will suit me best. I'm always happy to take a secondary turret gunner position in any vehicle.
Primary: Engineer or Medic
Secondary: HA or LA (LA if I can reliably master the jetpack mechanics :)
Not entirely sure. Likely it'll be whatever gives me flexibility as a Galaxy Pilot. Maybe an Engineer so I can fix my own bird. or possibly a cloaker so I can cause some confusion if I get shot down after the drop.

I'm thinking engineer... or medic.

Infil when I have the luxury. Probably public service medic otherwise. Just like in TF2 and pretty much every other role based shooter with sneaky bastard and support options.

Every game I play that gives me the option I go Medic, this wont be any different :-D

Either engineer or infiltrator, I don't know just yet.
My class will be being awesome with any class, any vehicle and any role ;)

This is difficult question for me to answer at this point, I have always been fairly well rounded in FPS with class systems on purpose to be able to adjust by taking the class needed to overcome the challage or objective. However with the size, scope, and customization of PS2 I don't know if being well rounded will be in my best interest and maximize effectiveness on the battlefield.
If I had to guess..
Infiltrator
Engineer

Mostly HA and LA
But I do plan to do some gunning in a liberator
so sometimes i'll be an Engineer

Primary : MAX unit, especially if it's only on cooldown or no cooldown, victory through superior firepower and versatility. Plus, double burmination for the Smurfs.
Secondary : Medic, Engineer, support roles to keep the run-and-gunners/zerglings alive long enough to do something useful.
Since I'm typically a support/pilot type player (in PS1 that is) I'll be playing a Engineer mostly. I'll be able to keep whatever I'm piloting up and running with repairs and what not.
When I'm not piloting, medic will be my role. I'm more of a combat medic than I am a straight medic though, so some of my certs I imagine will take me down my Rambo path.

VS Engineer will be my primary.
VS Infil will be my secondary.
Primary: HA/Infiltrator (Depending on situation & outfit stuff)
Secondary: Medic

This. But engineer does look like good fun with the turrets and ability to heal MAX. I can see it now, put the turret down in one corner of a room with a point, a dual flamethrower MAX in the other corner, plow anything that comes through the door. MAX gets hurt? Heal it up.
On the other hand i've never played sniper in any game, so the infiltrator would be a good chance to learn.

I'll likely play LA a lot due to the versatility, then again I enjoy being a Medic/Engi in games as well. Ahh, we'll see. Hopefully it won't take 4 years to max a class out.
Do we have an idea on how long they've said it will take?

probably depends on the situation. as i will likely be in a vehicle most of the time, combat engineer.
if im not in a vehicle, or have cert a vehicle and learned it well enough not to need frequent repairs i might go HA/LA
all of which will be TR of course.
Depending how long the beta is i'm gonna have a go with all of the classes to make a proper decision but i will probably play as an assault as i like being in the middle of all the action.I still haven't chosen a faction yet so i will be testing each one in the beta if it allows me to.

Heavy assault, definitely.
It's just very durable and flexible in combat. You wield anti-tank and anti-infantry weapons, have more health + a shield, and despite all of that firepower, you can still operate vehicles + capture objectives. Also, fits the combat style of the BF3 Engineer, which I always played as.
Other then that, combat engineer or MAX.

I'm good as an infiltrator, but I much prefer playing as either Heavy Assault or MAX. All three are good at laying down "supporting fire", which is my specialty, but the HA and MAX are more flexible. Light Assault isn't bad either, cause you can get into awkward places, but they aren't as good for prolonged battles.

Damn 98% people here so far answered engineer.
I will be.... Light Assault or Heavy Assault, (or if a class is severly underplayed I will choose it, love to play the underdog) need to test the two class before, love to be the first on the front and versatile. Noobs on the front need some pro FPS players to lead them, if all good players are playing either engineer or medic I dont give much of a chance to the team. XD

I gravitate towards HA but I'll play whatever the situation needs the most.

I think i'll go TR Engineer / Max.

I will probably play a lot of engineer in the air and LA on the ground.

I'm guessing HA will be my primary, with engie, and infil (not sniper) as my secondaries.

I plan to fly a Scythe a lot so I'll be speccing into Scythe and LA mostly at first. I might work my way into Engineer, Sniper, and HA later, possibly work my way into tanks eventually.
LA for sure. The jetpack will be amazing (I could write an entire post on how they will kick ass), and the ability to have C4 charges will let me have a flexible play-style. I plan on getting the rocket-launcher for the flash--imagine an spec-ops team for an outfit: five flashes (ten troops, two on each flash), no lights driving through the night (much, much lower profile than a galaxy or flying ten aircraft and ditching) and then descending on the enemy base in the blink of an eye (half the squad will be LA and jet pack to the roof or behind the enemy lines, etc). LA will definitely be the class of choice of the special forces of outfits and I believe the flash will be the most effective vehicle for it as well.

Heavy Assault. I need a good reliable fighter to play as while I work on the leadership certs.

i will try to be versatile depending on the situation.
but i will probably try and rotate between light assault and max/ha depending on offense/defense situation etc. not gonna play a LA when out in open terrain for example.

Primary Support roll: Engineer
Primary Combat Roll: Light Assault?
Not sure between HA & LA at the moment. I like LA's mobility and the fact it gets C4 is just ossum. HA is much better in slug outs and gets an RL though.
The type of player I am I'll prolly go with LA though.
I'll also do some sniper harassing/scouting with an Infiltrator, occasionally back up an infantry push with medic (tho my main support role will def be Engineer), and most certainly participate in some MAX Crashes.
Eff it, I plan on doing it ALL. Yup, SOE's already got me hook line and sinker for those dubXP Implants to make up for my over arching spread of Certifications.

HA or Medic. Either in the front storming places, or making sure others are well enough to do their jobs...

I'll play 6 consecutive hours of each class (and vehicle, Not including transport vehicles however.) Then I'll decide. Which is the way everyone should approach picking classes.

Infiltrator, Seems there may be a lot of different aspects within that class alone that will keep me occupied. In PS1 I liked sniping, knifing, hacking, laying down mines and other shenanigans.
Engineer and LA appeal to me as well. Not really into vehicles, Wraith and Fury is all I used in PS1, hopefully can do so again in PS2

This, I won't know until I really test out each class after release. Until then I'll be more worried about finding technical anomalies rather than figuring out my play style for PS2.

Realistically, I'm sure that I'll be using Engineer the most soaking up as much support XP as possible.

Why? We're already used to calling it LA and HA. LI and HI just don't have the same ring to it.

Medic, want to see how good it is a AR in long range with good scope(i really enjoy the fact of soo many scopes) with higher survability than a infiltrator . (i am not used to camp, time to try)

Back in the start of PS1 I always played a Infiltrator/eng . Now I'm playing an Eng/Max and supply ams's to the battlefield. I really don't know how this will work out with the new skill tree. How well a Galaxy Pilot/Combat eng will work. Or a Eng/Max will work. Really want to try the light assault with the jet packs/eng. Boy you could put some turrets in really hard to reach places. But I don't know if that will work. I guess time will tell.

NC
Primary: Light Assault
Secondary: Engineer ( For Flying and Tanks- not sure which one I'll do more )
Cert-wise I plan on:
1: Completing everything on Light Assault
2: Completing everything on the Vanguard
3: Completing everything on the Reaver
4: Completing everything on the Engineer
5: No plans what I'll do from there; I'll decide once I get to it.

Terran Republic!
Since I'm a EMT/Paramedic student I plan on playing a lot of Combat Medic. I definitely wanna give some Light Assault a try.
Terran Republic
Primary: Medic
Secondary: Engineer (Tank Driver, and Pilot)
I'll probably rotate playing classes eventually, that way I will keep the game fun for myself. But those two are usually my most played classes.:groovy:
