I'd personally like to see more of a variety vehicles added into the game in the future. I believe since MMO's are an ever evolving product, it's never too late to suggest ideas.
Random ideas:
- Sunderers that can tow customizable, deployable weapons platforms
- Minelayers (Complete with sidegrades or certs for engineers to have mine detection systems etc)
- Recon vtols with advanced radar & tracking abilities, possibly cloak
- Artillery vehicles (huge debate about it, but I think could still be funly done; like indirect fire long range rockets or something)
- Super BFR's (lol jk)
- Tunnel diggers (note: this would require heavy balancing and expensive implementation but an idea nonetheless)
- Supply Type Vehicle (Basically a mobile sunderer type vehicle that could allow limited change of weapons without visiting a terminal in a base; would need heavy balancing to not be OP)
- MLFB (Mobile Light Fortication Builder; Engineers can use this vehicle to construct sandbags using resources, or concrete bunker nests for even more resources; would require balancing to not be OP; I got this idea from watching beta footage where a lot of times infantry is running out in the open up to a base being mowed down..though some could argue they are not assaulting a base properly.. then again I have seen footage where a line of infantry does take cover behind items inside bases and it seems to help so, take it or leave it)
- MPHQ (Mobile Platoon Headquarters; think of a jeep with a satellite dish on the back. Platoon leaders could sit in this vehicle and be given advanced command features, and using such vehicles give his platoon he is commanding certain buffs such as increased base HP etc; would require balancing. The tradeoff is that such a vehicle will be a large target if driven recklessly, so placement and protection would be a must)
- Buggy (This one is a no brainer but a 3 seater buggy would be great. Fast & agile, a Squad can pile into 4 of these guys and really assault points with lightning speed without having to be a huge flying target seen for miles)
- Radar Detection Vehicle (This could be an unarmed modified sunderer type vehicle, that someone could drive around and have a specific radius of detection of aircraft beyond what is visible, possibly increasing that radius through certs. Balancing would be necessary but you could detect say an aircraft is near but not necessarily know what is is or what faction. This could open up possibilities of stealth certifications for aircraft to avoid radar, keeping element of surprise. Some may argue this is unecessary)
- Faction specific common pool vehicle models (With the three factions all looking different, there is no reason why down the line the Vanu for example couldn't have a smooth rounder shaped Galaxy to match their own designs or for the NC to have a flying box)
- Alarms for bases when under attack (Your first thought is that it would become annoying, but there are many ways to alleviate that fear :)
- Continent specific CAMO colors/patterns/armor decals (Deck your soldier out to look like a badass snow warrior when you play on Esamir)
- Openable & hackable base doors (I know there are shields and many entrances into bases. Perhaps down the line or when Esamir is being constructed you might not want bases to be wide open to the outside it being an iceworld and all so perhaps they could add in huge base doors that could be opened, blasted open, or hacked open. Imagine being on the inside with your platoon set up with turrets & maxes, watching the door bow in towards you as they are about to break through and all hell breaks loose!)
- NPC "Fluff" (More specifically, create a General Commanding Officer NPC for each faction complete with their own backstory, physical features, weaponry & personality. Then make them. Then put them in the game somewhere such as inside a building at each factions warpgate. This is after all a game about war and it would be insane to think armies just goto battle with no leadership. Have a place where players could walk in and just see the General of their army standing there or looking at some big map of the continent with other npcs punching away at computer screens seemingly running things; Not really the highest on the priority list but hey, it would help with immersion and give people more reasons to be passionate about their faction)
That's all I got. Now it's you're turn:
