View Full Version : An infiltrator's Guide to win every battle!

Ipimpnoobs
2012-08-23, 06:03 AM
Welcome recruit to your new role as an infiltrator. Many have come before you and will serve after you. You are but a cog in the clockwork of asymmetrical warfare. Your reasons for becoming a spy may be loyalty, notoriety or just plain chaos, all of which are perfectly acceptable as you are now the most lethal and arguably most important soldier in Planetside 2. You will learn to perfect the art of gathering intel and utilizing many forms of ruse to conquer your enemies for your cause! You will single underhandedly destroy a guild from the inside out. If you do your job correctly, your enemy will never even know you were there or what you have done as the noose quickly asphyxiates their power. If you failed, there will not be a community in the whole of any nation that will allow you safe passage. Follow the simple laws below to the letter and you will win every battle in every war! Failure to follow this counsel and face an adversary that has, they, will enjoy the fruits of your labor while being praised as if they created it themselves. Luck is for those that fail to plan. Adhere wisely to the 3 laws that follow and you will not only win in war but any pursuit you choose in life!

3 Laws
1. Never trust anyone accept the general of your armed forces with the means of gathering intel and the intel itself. A general that wants to win at all costs and save the lives of his military will not question morality, for it has a purpose only in times of peace. Though, peace does not exist, for nature is always at war!

2. You must read and be proficient in understanding, “The art of War,” by Sun Tzu

3. You must read and be proficient in understanding, “The 48 laws of power,” by Robert Greene

*Proficiency: the quality of having great facility and competence.

May the gods of war send the winds at your back and the sun in your foe’s eyes!

Be ye vigilante!

Carry on men!

Murphy's Law(s) > OP Guide

think macro and you'll get it. Google the two books, read and you will thank me.

I lol'd as well, but not because of the witty comments. If I changed the topic to how excel at your job, school or relationships, the two suggested readings would work equally as well. Don't let reading be a barrier to your success. I'm already rich, when will you be?

Ah theres always some guy who discovered "the art of war" 12 minutes ago, thinks reading the title gave him superhuman brain powerzz and wants to teach the ignorant world of its awesomeness.

Hey, Ipimpnoobs, heres another one for you:

You must read and be proficient in understanding, "correct usage of the word proficient"- by random stranger.

How is this a guide for infiltrators in any way, shape or form?

The texts you reference would be better for someone in a leadership position to read and understand but even then if you are some kid sitting in your room on the computer those books aren't going to mold you into the best digital commander to ever grace the internet.

This sounds like something a 12 year barely cobbled together to sound "epic" but the complete lack of a grasp on the English language completely butchers any message that slab of text would have.

Here's the deal: Chances are that the community for planetside 2 is not going to be significantly different than any other large scale community in any other internet forum and game - i.e. completely egotistical, self-centered, and full of people that lack basic social skills when dealing with others.

Large scale strategy is unlikely to take place on any regular basis in any meaningful way. Its going to be an organic zerg that will have brief glimpses at intelligence but the player base as a whole will completely lack the discipline to do anything productive and cooperative over the long term, especially if it involves actually taking directions from others.

“I’d thought what I’d do was, I’d pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes. That way, I wouldn’t have to have any goddam stupid useless conversations for anybody. If anyone wanted to tell me something, they’d have to write it on a piece of paper and shove it over to me. They’d get bored as hell doing that after a while, then I’d be through having conversations for the rest of my life. Everybody’d think I was just a poor deaf-mute bastard and they’d leave me alone. They’d let me put gas and oil in their stupid cars, and they’d pay me a salary and all for it, and I’d build me a little cabin somewhere with the dough I made and live there for the rest of my life. I’d build them right near the woods, but not right in them, because I’d want it to be sunny as hell all the time. I’d cook all my own food and later on I’d get married or something, I’d meet this beautiful girl who’d also be a deaf-mute and we’d get married. She’d come and live in my cabin with me, and if she’d want to say anything to me, she’d have to write it on a goddamn piece of paper, like everybody else. If we had any children, we’d hide them somewhere. We could buy them a lot of books and teach them how to read and write by ourselves.
I got excited as hell thinking about it.”

I remember another great author, he said I will not eat them in a box, meaning not to give your opponent no option for surrender for that is when they will fight hardest. I will not eat them with a fox. Allowing a third party to the battlefield is unreliable and can turn on you.

Dr. Seuss, great war philosopher.

sun tzu wrote a book about war, you know that part where he mentions burning the fields down and people take it to mean use the terrain yadda? He meant burning the fucking field down and roasting your opponents alive to kill them. Trying to add great wisdom to this is just pretentious ass hattery. He was a good general, and you can interpret anything about anything if you try hard enough.

So true! It is mandatory reading for every politician in this country. I respect you very much. If there is anything you've read on the topic and recommend sharing, please do so.

Anti-war protestor. I respect your position. Just a little history about Mr. Tzu. Legend says he was not in fact a general at all, but many generals over a period of hundreds of years.

So I would agree with you, except for the fact that you did not complete reading Sun Tzu based upon your response. Please, go read it from where you left off and respond one more time. Also, your going to love the 48 laws of power as well.

Catcher in the Rye! Now, I can interpret this in various ways but, I'll keep it positive. I wont be a catcher, the children must know the truth about the adult world! lol

We alredy set the standard higher than that when we read the serial number from a TR rifle from an early screenshot and converted it into a suspected beta date...

2. You must read and be proficient in understanding, “The art of War,” by Sun Tzu

3. You must read and be proficient in understanding, “The 48 laws of power,” by Robert Greene

Carry on men!

I currently use the pages of 'The 48 Laws of Power' as kindling to light my BBQs on warm summer and spring days. That is one of the worst books I have ever come accross, and anyone looking to implement its teachings into their everyday lives has no bearing on humnity, nor the capacity to cultivate healthy human relationships.

Sun Tzu's The art of War was a good read however, as it placed more emphasis on tactics and outsmarting the enemy on the battlefield. It too seems to have a tinge of amorality, but in a far more limited scope than is suggested by the aforementioned book.

-by all means, do not read the 48 Laws of Power; it is everything wrong with humans in this world, summerized and condensed into one book, and then passed off as advice to be applied in an everyday game of survival. We aren't base animals -well, we are but we also have what animals don't, a higher order of thinking, which contrary to what some may think, is not a dillusion or guise used to mask our true carnal natures; if we were, then all we would be doing is murdering each other for food all day- especially in this economy.

I see, you sir are a scholar. I respect your point about the 48 laws of power, it can be quite disgusting or refreshing depending on your perception of the world. The only rebuttal I can give in support of the latter is John Harsanyi and John Rawls writings regarding the theory called, "The Veil of Ignorance." Let me know what you think about this piece of literature.

Just a heads up though, you didn't sell me on whole, "we aren't murdering each other line though." But, I still respect your position.

If you have any rare books, you think may be interesting and I would enjoy, by all means give up the juicy names. I read books like a fat kid eats cake!

You're applying Sun Tzu to a video game, and badly at that. This is not smart.

Sun Tzu applies to everything in some degree or another. Anything that involves tactics, which Planetside 2 has a lot of -it just doesn't have depriving your enemy of food preserves -but it does have Auraxium! :)

Astrology applies to everything because it's so vague and obvious.

It doesn't stop it being useless and bs.

I'm going to say it again; reading Sun Tzu will not make you better at planetside.
