I had a level 48 scout and they started screwing around with everything and I would just get killed by the rogue type classes before I could do anything because they nerfed the hell out of my guy. It sucked but it was fun as hell until then I could do half the health of warrior in like 1 shot and kill a wizard type guy in 1.

daoc is faeg, i mean no skills required to be good + first u hit the evil dude 1 time then he hit u 1 time, thats not how games should be at this moment. i mean even nethack (old ascii d&d game) let each side hit eachother different amount of times, not first u hit then he hit

The only people who could honestly answer your question are bound by the NDA, and cannot explain anything in detail.
As for people like Big hoss, he's a bit hypocritical when it comes to Daoc.

If they cant have a class that can kill something everytime they RvR, the bitch and moan about how thier class is gimped.
I think the best way to sum it up is.
Daoc-Social RPG
PS-FPS RPG

Maybe it'll come down to whether you like the old world ethos or sci-Fi, and whether your a twitch player.
I'm currently a DAOC'er, have and always have been a character whore (about 15 aliases I think)... and to say I'm looking forward to PS would be to say the ocean is slightly moist. :D

I quit DAoC a while back, mostly because of two reasons:
1. The treadmill killed me
2. The classes were changed so bad.
PS is a FPS, but it also has that one thing from DAoC that keeps oyu playing.. PvP. I think PS is going to be MORE then worth the switch.

I'm playing DAoC right now(mainly BGs), and I would have to say yes, switch to Planetside.
While DAoC does have tactics and strategy, as stated before, it lacks in the skill area, like all RPGs. Also, to much of what determines victory is based on numbers of assassins each side has. Numbers of other types of characters has a reletively minimat effect.
I still enjoy DAoC for now, but only until I can get my hands on PS.

If your a big pussy and like gloating because you play more than other people and have a better character, then by all means play DAoC. If you want kill someone and accomplish something that actually requires skill, then play planetside. Also, if you kick ass in planetside, then its because you are good, not because you sit at your computer all day clicking one button every few minutes to initiate a fight, and pressing one over and over again to use a special attack (:o ).

The games look different enough to not be able to compare them.
If you like DAoC for tradeskills and fantasy environments and lootfarming, PS may not be for you.
If you like it for a social environment where the hardest thing you fight is other players, PS might be something to look into.
I just started playing DAoC again after putting it down a week after release and I'm having a lot of fun. The changes that I notice (spell depth and tradeskills) have added some spice that it was needing. If someone's looking for a fantasy RPG to start I'd recommend it.

And im going to have to agree with you on this one, it is pretty true but i think im fairly ok from T2 but i will have alot of challenges since players from all over, from beginner to expert are joining so this will be the game of the year for a couple of years..and yes i like both fantasy and realistic games too...
